They have both been fine all day in their cage

Yes I know you’ve said before they only make this noise in their playpen - this is where it doesn’t make sense - if he is in pain then he will be in pain no matter where he is.
Unless it is a nervous thing, he is unsure in a different environment.

He's same in the cage tonight

You can’t post video directly here. It has to be uploaded to YouTube first.

As we have said, all you can do is contact your vet. Show the vet any recordings you’ve made so they can hear the noises for themselves.

Have 2 recordings now. How do I post on YouTube please!

Metacam can be prescribed on a sliding scale according to weight and severity of pain. Please speak to your vets about increasing the dose.

If you go on to the YouTube website and find your video, click on the web address at the top once you're on the video and paste it here,I can probably do it for you if you can't x
Havnt a clue with all these things sorry

I would speak to your vet again. She would definitely benefit from pain relief twice a day.Your dose of metacam is what my poppy is on but I give it twice a day.
So, you give 0.4mls twice a day? Squeak is a he

Yes I do when she needs it,she's over a kilogram in weight though.Sorry, I think I missed a few posts. Is it your other guinea pig making the painful noises in the video?I'd definitely speak to the vet.I appreciate the vet costs,I've paid nearly £500 altogether for my beloved fuzz who I ended up having to put to sleep on Thursday x

No, its the same piggie, Squeak. I'm so very sorry for your loss. 😥

No. Its been a different one these past 2 times. Now baytril, but originally sulfratrim
Ok,it's very strange why it keeps coming back.Would your vet be willing to prescribe zithromax? It's a strong antibiotic but my vets at the cat and rabbit clinic have prescribed it to me in the past a few times for various things and I've found it to be effective.

I just can't hear anything there to worry about. Maybe I'm a bit deaf? I can hear the boy(s) making little noises as they go about their business which is what piggies do - especially my boar. He's very verbal when he moves around. They talk when they move around to let the other pigs know where they are. I'm going to try and find something to link of what a painful wee sounds like - we don't record George because actually although he's living with a stone he's OK most of the time. Going to have another listen...

Its only when he pees

Its everytime he pees

I can't find any squeaky demo videos on the internet - it's just people waffling on!
@Mclayton I'll tell you - when George squeaks with his stone I hear him when I'm in the next room and it makes me feel sad for him. But when he squeaked with his UTI last year you could hear him right upstairs - and we've got 3 floors.

Pigs can pick up a bit on anxiety - they get worried about things. IC is a genuine condition and it is thought to be stress related (there might also be a genetic element, trigger foods etc). But usually posters whose pigs have IC are not wondering whether the sound is pain or not - those pigs cry, and often loudly. Your piggies are looking happy - even if they're only happy between pees as long as their pees aren't every half hour day and night (poor Georgie with his UTI) they're doing OK. My best advice would be to take vids until you get something that you feel clearly represents your concerns and then send it to the vet (they often don't 'perform' at the vets) and see what they say. And by all means post onto this thread too - we'll catch it.

The problem with Anxiety is it makes you hyper-vigilant and you feel like you have to do something Right Now. It's a very painful sense of urgency that affects your judgement. And yes, it is the voice of experience. It's not nice lovey - it's a horrible burden to carry. But you did the right thing getting them to the vets and they're having some sort of treatment - maybe for a stubborn (if relatively mild) UTI or maybe they're just picking up poop bacteria in the pee puddle with the test. I don't know how likely that is - you can ask them. But nothing jumps out at me in that video as urgent.

Generally speaking, if 2 or 3 days on an AB don't make a difference to symptoms either it's a resistant bug or not a bacterial problem at all.

Was he definitely peeing when he was making those noises? To me they sound like chatty piggy noises rather than painful squeaks

I’ve just listened to the video. My Percy made these noises when he peed with his bladder stone.
