I am sorry you are in this position. I have had to let two piggies go due to inoperable stones (too big to pass from the kidney), it is horrible to have to make the decision to let them go but it really is the kindest once pain killers no longer help their pain.
Thinking of you at what is a very sad and difficult time.
Metacam did nothing last night 😭

The fact he is bleeding more and the pain meds don’t appear to be helping, I would encourage you to have a discussion with the vet to get their thoughts.

I had to let my lovely rabbit go last year due to arthritis. He was still happy as active as an almost 10 year old rabbit could be, never lost his appetite and was always pleased to see me. Vet maxed out his dose of dog metacam but it stopped helping and I just knew it was the right time.

I have a major problem. I won't have enough money until a week tomorrow, to possibly PTS. I'm worried sick if he deteriorates quickly, & I don't have enough money for the vets. I've just paid £164 out.

Don’t panic.
If you feel the time is coming then talk to the vet. They would not let him suffer because of this.

My vet is very accommodating when it comes to PTS. I spoke to the nurse the day before I had Patch put to sleep. She talked me through everything including the fact that I wouldn’t need to pay on the day. They said they don’t think it is fair to make an owner do that. The next day at the appointment it was purely about giving me time with him and being there as they let him go.
They sent me an invoice a few weeks later when losing him wasn’t so raw.

Now, each surgery will have their own policy, but it is worth having that discussion beforehand

Thank you for everything ❤

If you are a regular at the vet it is likely they will not make you pay on the day, or you can set up a date of when you will pay.

My dog is sick so when my boy got put down we paid the following week since my dog was in anyway.

I'm not a regular. I've only just joined

I'm just catching up here... I've been on the other thread and tagged you in but it's probably not quite right at this point. I'm so sorry if he's getting worse 😢

All you can do is play it by ear - to see if the pain meds consistently stop working or the bleeding gets worse - to decide when it is time to make that call
Yes. Thats exactly what I'm doing. I'm under no illusions that his time is limited, but he had a good night last night, & seems ok so far today
