A place to rant about things that wind you up ( keep it clean lol)

Had our works Christmas lunch today,I never look forward to it as I'm so fussy with food and last year they gave me a plate with turkey on it.I'm a vegetarian so when a lady came over with the meat version, they took it away after being told again I was vegetarian. The thing that annoyed me the most was I didn't get any vegetarian gravy on my food, they put tomato soup over all of it.I ate the mushroom and spinach pie but left most of the rest.
I'm.not a vegetarian but I really can't see how in this day and age a half decent restaurant cannot supply at least one proper vegetarian meal option (and how the works do organisers didn't cater for special dietary needs). Veggies and vegans too are so much more numerous than in past decades 🤔

Christmas is not a religious holiday for me, but I always exchanged gifts with my mom. She passed away last October, so this is my second Christmas without her. My sister doesn't speak to me because I inherited more money than her and she won't let me see my nephews because of it.

No one invited me for Christmas, so I will be spending it alone.

I'll make the best of it and go for curry like I used to with my mom. I'll go to the Afghan market and buy myself a present.

I scrubbed the shower yesterday, and my housemate used it last evening. I just got out of the shower, wondering why I clean.
She blows her nose in the shower, and is a master at shooting it. She has been asked to cut it out, but (am I the only one trying to not vomit?!) has obviously continued.

That is such a shame @Ramia. If you lived closer you could spend Christmas Day with us. Even if it isn't a religious holiday for you, you still shouldn't be alone on Christmas Day.

It is with regret that in the new year, the naughty corner will be discontinued, with the advent of the new online safety act, we don't want the forum to fall foul of the new rules.
Unfortunately, the new online safety act hasn't got a sense of humour, it's designed with all the little kiddly winks and humorless woke snowflakes who browse the forum as guests and take offence at the slightest thing in mind. The fines for breaching the act can be up to £18m, I haven't got that kind of money - even if I do drive a Jaaaaaag, so sacrifices will have to be made. It pains me to do it, but if it keeps the forum safe, it's something we will have to do. Otherwise worse case scenario means closing the forum and walking away which would be a crying shame.
I know that the Naughty Corner isn't for everyone but for those of us who enjoy it and see it as a bit of naughty nonsense in an otherwise depressing world, we shall miss it. Various suggestions have been made for a replacement.

If it helps, I'm also generally alone at Christmas. Somebody will come to the house to drop some food off, but that's about it. So if you (or anyone else on the forum) feels stuck/alone/unhappy/etc, make a thread. A rant, a funny story, whatever, and tag me!

Yes there's usually a special thread for folk to come together and chat if they are on their own on Christmas Day - or just want to escape for a bit of piggie-infused normality

I'm getting two lots of a Christmas dinner whether I want it or not lol, although my neighbour said she bought chicken because "everyone prefers it anyway". And I suppose I'd better check what country my parents are in in case they're actually back home and might get miffed if I don't ring them. So much work.

Ah ….you can save some food for later ?
Dont upset your Parents ….after the phone call you can do Christmas your way Lorcan
Happy Christmas 🥰🎄

I genuinely don't know where they are though. Last I knew they were in Australia, but I've heard nothing for a couple of weeks now.
Ooooo that could be expensive ….will they phone you ?

I've already had my Christmas dinner today with me working tomorrow, it was a lot less stressful 👍 we're having a make it yourself cold buffet tomorrow, so just graze as and when you're hungry. 👍

We did that when I got Covid on Christmas Eve 2021 and spent Christmas Morning going to the testing station at Birmingham Airport ... it was actually rather relaxing and quite fun :D

My housing association has a deal with...somewhere, no idea where, but they make the food and trimmings end masses, dole it into various containers, and then other people bring it to my door. Is it the best food ever? No but it's still nice and there's some of everything. Half the time I shove it in the fridge to graze on it, I don't do big meals well.

So Christmas Day is all but over for them!

My son is in Sydney, he spent Christmas Day on Bondi Beach with lots of other Brit friends 🏖🍻🍸

They were definitely in Sydney at some stage although I think they've moved on since. It's been n Facebook which I rarely use sky I haven't really been following.

Wish I was ☀️

I couldn't handle an Aussie summer. Nope no thank you, lol.

Glad you discovered where your parents are. I never quite know where my parents are- fortunately they usually stick to staying in Britain when travelling. I rely on the landline answer phone message as a guide to if they are home if not. If it tells you who to call in an emergency they are away, if it’s normal they are expected home that evening!
As Dad is a semi retired vicar I can usually rely on them being exhausted & at home for Christmas time.

So infuriating, to watch a parcel you are standing waiting for be obviously delivered to the wrong address, because the driver came nowhere near the car park I was standing in, but to know that because of the *not nice* place I live, there isn't a hope of getting it returned!

I had to buy new jeans.

Now I know how it sounds, but I have two pairs of jeans. One pair is in sorry need of a wash but every time I get the other pair washed and change into them, the weather just...happens, and I have to wash them. Again.

I just want to wear clean jeans lol. I don't usually miss having a tumble dryer except when I need jeans.
