Unexpected Luigi op ☹️

Bless him, I'm glad the hole has closed. I was going to suggest brown cardboard and scrolled down to see he has loo rolls! I think you are doing all you can. I have found it takes them a few weeks even months to pick up again after something major. It's always good to have a check up with the vet if you're worried though. I hope you don't have to make that trek again, come on Luigi get eating!
 
Grated carrot or sweet potato with raw oats is a favourite with mine.
Glad the hole has healed up.
Hopefully with all that extra feeding and treats he will put on a bit more weight?

Are you giving him the best quality loo roll centres?
 
Thanks @piggieminder, yes not sure there’s much more I can do! I think I’ve been too lucky with pigs after ops, it’s only OAP Jess after her eye that’s needed weeks of feeding after really, and she was just top up feeds! (Obviously the chins a totally different story 😆) And to be Luigi the bottomless pit pig that’s not eating too, madness! :yikes:
I’ll give him a few days and see how he is, he was happy enough scoffing his Piggie Parcels green oat before his feed at 7 and watermelon after his 3pm one, just not enough of the other filling stuff! 🙄:doh: Thank you 😊 xx

He’s not touching oats! But the grated carrot going down well, like all the fruit and most naughties! :roll: Maybe he’s just getting me back for all these diets I’ve put him on and enjoying this spoiling too much! 🤔:))

Well I joked that it was bound to be open again by the evening and yep, it was! :doh::)) So another flush last night for us! But I’ve done it this morning and he’s closed up again so 🤞 it’ll remain that way!
Looking great though! He’s just not keen on me playing around with the stitches, quite hard and together now so think it’s a bit sore bless him.

He had a donation of poopies yesterday, so a triple poopy soupy/pate for Gigi for supper! 🤢:)) But I’ve woken to him quite chirpy, hasn’t got his sad eyes that he’s had every morning, up a little in weight and even a funky half popcorn when breakfast was served! (Just didn’t eat much!) So 🤞today is a better day!

It’s a bit hard to see but his sunken in boney bum! That 100g makes all the difference to his lovely bottom bless him!
Ignore the overnight mess, cage cleans soon 😆

You think that's messy, you want to our skinnies' cage in the mornings. You would think we hadn't done a poop pick for days and that they had held some sort of party in there.

Glad that Luigi is continuing to improve. It's always a bit of an up hill struggle to regain weight after an op.

You didn’t see the other half of it! :)) But sure the volume of poops is far bigger in yours with the lovely skinny poop machines! :wub::))

Thanks so much 😊 I’m not even bothered about him gaining at the moment really, just staying stable and actually eating tbh! I’m giving him 90mls ish of syringe food daily, I was giving more at first, but just don’t want to completely fill him up and him have no interest in hay at all! It would be good for him to eat a little in the cage too, or at least off a spoon or in a bowl! But nope, he’s sticking to veg and forage in cage and syringes with the silly slave for now! :doh::))
 
Thanks so much! I gave him a little less food yesterday (Critical Care fine grind was still ignored in cage, I was so sure that’d tempt him with his sweet tooth!) and we’re still a solid 1310g today so I’m pleased! :):love:

Annoyingly he’s down a little today but think it’s because of my stupid brain and two seizures yest, so I was late to his feed in the afternoon as I was knocked out on the bed :mal: Gave him 3 smaller ones closer together later on, but think my fault anyway :( Only down 30g and he can do that easily on a regular day, even 50 with a big wee!

He was very much enjoying his forage last night from Aunty @Lavinia! (So did Jaspy, Cleo and Lolo the tubster who’s gaining quite well atm without Gigi pinching everything! 🐷:)))

A liccle update on my Gigiwigi as he’s doing so well and I’m chuffed (and brain getting a bit of a well needed rest too! :fog::)) )!

After he still kept going ‘spacey’ and off his food despite trying fibreplex, poo soup x 5 and just about everything else, I sort of realised it was the metacam 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ He’d be really perky later on in the evening (when it was obviously wearing off) but have the 0.4 of metacam and start staring at corners again etc and off his food.
So he had his last dose Thursday evening, and he’s been like a different pig since, well Luigi again! :wub: Not had any space outs since, been out happily out zooming at floortime like usual (not hiding like he has been) and we’re now on 3 feeds daily, although I might try 2 today as he’s doing so amazingly! :D Scar looking and feeling great too!
So strange, never known a pig (or any other animal of mine on it) like it with metacam, especially such a low dose! I’m going to start a thread as very interested to know if it’s just him! But he won’t be having it again in the future, despite loving the taste!

So he’s loving his treats now from Aunty @piggieminder which he was turning down, loving his carrot again, drinking from his bottle finally and causing me as much trouble as possible at feeding time trying to jump off my knee at every blinking opportunity! He’s definitely back! 😈👹:love:

That beer belly is definitely getting there! 🐷 Just got to get that voluptuous botty back now! 🍑 Even got his lovely dewlap coming back :D
Him and Lolo have been so sweet, now he’s back to ‘normal’ she’s his best mate and they’ve even been sleeping with/next to each other which has never happened before! She’s missed her happy Gigi! :luv:
