Unexpected Luigi op ☹️

Well I’m a bit gutted and worried, brought my gorgeous boy over to get his ‘fatty’ lump checked and now going for exploratory surgery as COULD be an abscess ☹️
Just left him and Lolo there and I’m hovering around in Northampton until later, a bit pointless going home.
It doesn’t bother him, wasn’t showing any signs of it being an abscess and after Kim said it was fatty I’ve tried not to worry about it growing gradually as he really couldn’t care less about it! Weight still great and teeth look good.
So a £450 estimate for now, ouch!
My poor boy though, feel terrible, really hope he’ll be ok 🤞

OUCH! Poor you!

Even for an experienced vet, it can be very difficult to work out the nature of a lump just by feel; especially as needle aspiration can cause more problems than it solves. Been there a few times; last with Gethin and his small fatty lump on his ribcage suddenly going on runaway and needing an emergency op at the Cat&Rabbit for a potential tumour. :(

At least he is in the best place for such an operation but with the latest hike in cost, they are getting really eye watering now, aren't they? :(

Fingers very firmly crossed.
 
Aw poor Luigi :( I am sending him lots of healing vibes and fingers crossed it’s just a fatty lump. That’s an eye watering estimate but I think vets bills have increased everywhere

Thanks so much everyone :)yes definitely in the best place, just wasn’t expecting it and a bit of a shock! They could squeeze him in today but pretty busy in the coming weeks so thought it was best to get it done today.
Yes the price definitely a bit high @Wiebke, hoping not too much more! 🙈

And I’m currently in a church coffee shop in the town centre where they’re letting me charge my phone @Bradshaw Piggies 😆I had to buy a charger so didn’t miss their calls! (Not charging great though, dodgy thing!)
 
Fingers (and paws) firmly crossed, poor wee man - and poor you! Hopefully it's nothing too serious and that the worrying is the worst part, they do like to keep us on our toes!

But all went well, it was an abscess 🤦‍♀️ And yup, I’ll be flushing it! To give me a bit of Pedro flashback as not done in a while! He’s not even looked at me yet as flat out so no idea how it looks, but I’ll get a pic when I’m back. At least my beautiful boy’s ok! :luv::luv:
