Salisbury Meet 27th July 2024

Edited to say they don't do table reservations. It's just first come first served. We are welcome to join tables together. We will definitely need tablebaggers then! I'll see if we can get there a bit earlier than 12pm.

We'll be there early as we are having the patio laid and my OH will take me and @Viennese Furbabies to Salisbury and then have to come home so he won't be there. @Bill & Ted please say sorry to Mr Bill & Ted my OH would have liked to have been there to see everyone but as it's his mates that are laying the patio, he doesn't want to leave them for too long. He'll then come back for me and @Gem789 when the Meet is over.

I think we will be able to come We will come down in the morning, go straight to the venue, my OH will join us for lunch then toddle off to look at the cathedral (No plans to assassinate retired russian spies as far as I know!).
After the meet we will meet up with his vicar friend for a meal then stay at a hotel overnight in or near Salisbury.

Anyone know any good hotels in the Salisbury area?

If you don't mind a Premier Inn there is one in Salisbury. I stayed there a couple of years ago.

I have a guide book somewhere for the cathedral that i bought when i was last there. I will try and find it and bring it with me so that your OH can use it if he likes.

I think everywhere is busy as it is the first weekend of the school holidays for most places in England.

Saturday night premium pricing. I booked one for October and within 3 hours of an event being announced the price for the weekend had jumped up by £100.

I was looking at the train tickets & the price has gone up nearly a third of the out of school holidays price!
But it's not too much so I think I can push the boat out

That's right, but I'll be going to the hotel after the meet up probably. Though I guess if there's time before the meet, or if we can't find parking in the centre when we arrive, we could park there instead.

It's the first weekend of the Summer Holidays when we have the Meet. Is anyone able to table bag? Cos the pub is likely to be busy.

Am I right in thinking (from the google aerial view of the pub) that it has a garden, and if so would we like/be allowed to meet and eat out there, weather permitting?

Not sure the tables would be suitable to put together. We've never sat outside. It may be too hot to sit out. @Viennese Furbabies and I should be there around 11ish so we can table bag enough tables inside so we should be OK.
