If you've got WhatsApp, I can send you a video of me flushing Tilly's abscess. That's if she isn't too much of a little monkey, as I will be doing it without anyone holding.

I'm glad you got to speak to Simon. Keep it clean and as open as you can. It sounds like he must've been in huge pain, bless him xxSimon just called us and told us everything that happened during this op.
He said that it wasn’t like your normal abscess where the puss come from the abscess itself, but rather when he took the incisor out, the puss just poured out from the tooth socket. He said he’s never seen as much pressure as there was under Little’s incisor due to the abscess having burst up underneath it. He said everything was swollen, his tissue, his lymph nodes, all of it, there was barely any puss still in the abscess. He says that we should keep the wound clean and open as the hope is that if it fills up again at all, it will burst out of there but should leave it alone aside from bathing it. We’re also to syringe feed him too. Simon said it probably will take a few days for him to begin eating right and for his antibiotic to kick in just because everything was so swollen.
I feel so bad, for Simon to say he’d never seen pressure like it really says something about how much pain he must’ve been in
Since Simon didn’t seem worried, I think we will leave the wound alone and reassess it tomorrow, see it has filled up a lot more. He said if it looks quite swollen he may need to see Little to have it lanced
Me too, the receptionist before just didn’t tell us anything, they said he should be back to normal today when Simon has told us otherwise. They also never said to keep it open either so we thought it had to close itself, it was basically closed too until we gave it a good wipe. I just can’t believe Ellie didn’t spot any of itI'm glad you got to speak to Simon. Keep it clean and as open as you can. It sounds like he must've been in huge pain, bless him xx
yes it is a bit weird, missing him but he’s in the best place with Debbie and near to Simon so I’m quite relieve. Not sure how long he’ll at the moment.Thank you, I’m glad your journey went okay. It must be weird without Ted around now, how long are you going to be without him? Or isn’t it determined yet?
Yeah definitely, he’s with all the best people for the job. I bet it’s took so much worry off of you, and at least you have the two girls to keep you company. When a forum member took in Peanut and Little last year when Peanut needed dental work (and we were also going on holiday the next day) it felt so strange not having them in the house, I just didn’t know what to do with myself.yes it is a bit weird, missing him but he’s in the best place with Debbie and near to Simon so I’m quite relieve. Give it a really good clean!@furryfriends (TEAS) he's beginning to smell quite bad, my mum put him on the carpet to eat some grass and as soon as I sat down there with him I could just smell something. After having a look at him, his neck area does smell a bit foul. It wasn’t like this a few hours ago. I know Simon had said to leave it aside from cleaning it, but do you think we should do something?
We have some but it’s a good few year old. I doubt it’d still be ok to use, it’s from when he had an abscess on his back.Do you have any hibiscrub? I put a bit into the water I use for cleaning and flushing.
It definitely is, we’ve cleaned it and it’s removed some pus from the opening, but on one side of the wound we can see some pus there and it feels hard beside it but we can’t get it to dislodge. He smells absolutely horrid now, worse than before, you don’t even have to be near him to smell it. Doesn’t seem like a good sign. Maybe we should ring Simon again tomorrow and tell him that it has a fair bit of pus and smells? Should we do what you said and put water from the syringe inside to try and flush it out or just leave it alone until we speak to Simon?Just give it a really good clean! It sounds like it's still producing pus, so keeping it really clean is the way to go!
Ideally you want a syringe, with a needle on it, so you can get a firm flow of water into the hole. Leave it for now and speak to Simon. Tell him I’ve offered to send you a video, showing how I do it and see if he thinks it’ll help xIt definitely is, we’ve cleaned it and it’s removed some pus from the opening, but on one side of the wound we can see some pus there and it feels hard beside it but we can’t get it to dislodge. Okay thank you. Do you think we’d be able to get one of those syringes from a vet practice near us?Ideally you want a syringe, with a needle on it, so you can get a firm flow of water into the hole. Okay, we’ll get one tomorrow and speak to Simon too. Thanks again for your helpYes definitely!
What ml syringe should we be asking for?Yes definitely!
We will try our best to throughout the day, it’s always both me and my mum who do the syringe stuff but Little hates it so much he just won’t stay still or he tries to run onto my lap hoping I’ll make it stopAw, hoping he’s on the road to recovery. I would definitely try and get some Critical Care or Mushed Pellets or Porridge Oats mush into him if you can. He needs food running along his tummy. Sometimes that can be a two man job, Ted is the same, he’s not keen at all but you are doing it for their best interest x
I've had some very difficult pigs when syringe feeding before, I normally wrap them in a towel and hold them while my mum gets the food in.We will try our best to throughout the day, it’s always both me and my mum who do the syringe stuff but Little hates it so much he just won’t stay still or he tries to run onto my lap hoping I’ll make it stopit’s horrible to force it down him as he doesn’t understand it’s to make him better. He absolutely hates us right now so he and I are having cuddles to make up for it. His poos are a bit better today too which is good

That’s what we do, we wrap him as tight as possible but he still gets free, usually he reverses or tries to turn around by attacking the blanket and the fingers of anyone who dare stop himI've had some very difficult pigs when syringe feeding before, I normally wrap them in a towel and hold them while my mum gets the food in.
I hope Freddie improves soon, it’s awful, they already feel bad enough and then you have to make them feel worse in order to make them feel better. I wish I could tell him that if he just sat there and behaved that it would be over in a matter of minutes, seconds evenI’m currently wrestling syringe food into Freddie! He’s a nightmare, but has to have it, as he’s not eating for himself x
Sometimes you have to be forceful, it's for their own good. When we're giving the cats a tablet etc I hold them tight which they hate but I put my head to them and say how good their being.I know it can be very hard, keep trying xThat’s what we do, we wrap him as tight as possible but he still gets free, usually he reverses or tries to turn around by attacking the blanket and the fingers of anyone who dare stop himIt’s a nightmare!

Aw, I know how you feel Ted doesn’t like it either, it’s a struggle and it makes you feel so bad!
