Our piggies

Billy, despite seeming to perk up a bit, was still in pain when toileting.
After an X-ray- turns out he has a small stone, we have just left him at the vets for an operation. ☹️
Good luck Billy. Sending healing vibes your way ❤️

I am tired, and had to go to work today, but did manage to pop home twice to get some extra food into Billy.
He‘s been quite spaced out, these last few days. This evening he has perked a little, less hiding in beds, and even had a rumble at Hamish.
He’s a wiggle to syringe feed, turns around, escapes across the table, knocked over the cup with his drinking water in everywhere this morning.
I seem to spend a lot of time waiting with syringe in hand, for Billy to eat a poo! Its almost as if he has figured out I wont feed him if he‘s eating a poo. 😀

They do work these things out. I've had piggies when being syringe fed work out that if they are chewing they don't get more put into their mouths. It can take a long time to syringe them when every time they stop chewing you put the syringe near them and they start chewing again!

Yes, he does the chewing thing too!

Clever boy Billy.
Micah suggests you demand banana mixed into the syringe food.
It’s very yummy

Dear Micah,
Thanks for the banana tip. Daddy slave shared a banana with me at the wheeekend, it turns out I don't like banana. Hamish however enjoyed hoovering up the food and banana for me.
Wheeks.

🎉🎉 Billy pig has had a successful check up appointment. Vets are happy with him. He just needs to finish his yucky antibiotics, and gradually come off the gabapentin. He's allowed to remain a metacam junkie for now!
He’s pretty much back to his cheeky self.

I have however picked up a nasty cold thats doing the rounds. I am looking forward to a full nights sleep tonight & it nearly being the weekend.

Glad to hear that Billie is doing so well but sorry about your cold.
Look after yourself.

Tried to take a pigture of the Grandpigs for a thank you photo, with the advent calendar we were gifted by my parents.
Boys however decided it was good to snack on! Perhaps in protest after nail trims.

( Don’t worry, the squirrel still has his head.)

Bit dark on H’s side- but boys are sleeping next to each other. Balanced on heat pads. Hamish’s is warm. Billy has Hamish’s from last night, it’s not warm! Neither can see each other. There is cardboard on this bit of the divide.

We have had an emotional few weeks. Some downs, some ups, and some very unsure times.
Billy pig started to squeak when toileting again, after doing so well after his operation.
We had a vet check up between Christmas and New years, which we all decided to monitor for a little & talked with the vets about quality of life, his medication was put back up.
After a not so good week of whats next thinking, we had a really good week of happy Billy going about his daily business no toileting squeaks. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, late on Wednesday evening Billy passed a lot of blood and we had to make the decision to go to the emergency vet. Billy was helped over the rainbow bridge.
We are feeling raw and still trying to come to terms with what has happened, these last few months.
Rest in peace Billy pig. 🌈 We are going to miss all your silly antics.
