On our way to emergency vet

I cant say if it will work or not but when Thistle took a turn and went floppy and couldn't swallow, I was feeding critical care in tiny amounts, literally only 0.1-0.2ml every 5 minutes or so and trying to push blades of grass to her molars, which she would eat. It took most of the night but she rallied round and began to nibble food again by herself. She still struggled to swallow but getting it to stay down gave her some energy.
Thicker critical care also seemed easier for her to keep down, if it was too liquid she just let it drool back out.

Thank you all

Iโ€™ve just given the thicker stuff a try. He refuses to eat anything himself, so have had to syringe feed.

Heโ€™s quite pale now around his mouth and lips now too :(

Iโ€™m keeping him warm and fed as best I can

Spoke to our emergency vet again (on the phone) who has said that without him being anaesthetised and scanned, they wonโ€™t know whatโ€™s going on. All they could suggest was pain killer and feeding over night

I have only just logged in and read this and am so sorry you and Bobby are having to go through this. Its made even worse being at a weekend. I send loads of healing vibes and hope tomorrow will bring something positive xx โค๏ธ

Sending the same to Winifred too xx โค๏ธ

He does attempt to eat some things. Heโ€™s just eaten a quarter of a spinach leaf, but then he stops and sits hunched up :(

He attempted water from his bottle but gave up on that too :(

๐Ÿ˜ŸCan he eat syringe food off a dish, maybe it goes down differently if it's thick and has to be chewed first...

Sending loads of healing vibes ๐Ÿ’— ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
I'm in a similar position, worried about Winifred who's lost loads of weight and just waiting for her vet appointment tomorrow
Hope all goes well at Winifredโ€™s appointment ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’–

Thank you all. Bobby has an appointment with Simon at 4.20 today. Work wonโ€™t let me have time off to take him and so the OH is taking him for me. He will be setting off soon as it is a three hour drive for us to C&R

I have written everything down that I wanted to discuss with Simon, so that Dan can take notes in with him

Itโ€™s not good news Iโ€™m afraid

My husband stopped off about an hour ago (on his way to C&R and called me to say Bobby was still struggling

He pulled up outside C&R just now and Bobby hasnโ€™t made it. He left us for the bridge moments before he arrived for his vet appointment

My husband has taken him inside to speak to the vets anyway

We are all devastated

Oh Iโ€™m so sorry that Bobby has travelled to RB - you and Dan did all you could for Bobby. He knew he was loved and he was living his best life with you all.( before becoming ill)
Sending much love to you all ๐Ÿ’”

Oh I am so very sorry Nic. I hope Dan is ok as that would have been quite a shock for him after a long drive trying to do all he could for the little fellow. Big hugs to you both. Sleep tight, little man x
