My lovely Aliona - possible ovarian cysts

Aliona is really rumbly today, not seen her like this for months since Jess was around and she’d strut her stuff in her face!
Luigi was being his old ‘Gigi Humpalot’-self yesterday too and wouldn’t leave her alone, never like that these days, hoping a strong season. She’s a big ‘shrieker’ when she’s in heat normally and he tries it on, but she’s pursuing him today, definitely lots of hormones flying around in the porky pair cage atm!
 
Aliona’s out for a mini-manicure and a bit of spoiling and floortime before tomoz, thought I’d put a couple of pics of how her nipples have changed from last Thursday in case it helps anyone.
Although she was calm yesterday after a couple of hormonal days, she’s currently chasing and sniffing Gigi’s big bum around the living room, who has become a bit of a wuss and is getting out of her way!

And a terrible quality left (she was fed up by then!), looks very much like the right though with a lot of hard crustiness bless her.

Poor Aliona, thise nipples do look a bit swollen and sore! And poor you with all these worrisome wonky adorable piggywigs.
Sending many hugs and positive vibes and healing wheeks for you all, hope all goes well at the vets, but you do have the very best vets and you are one of the most experienced wonky animal nurse mum after all your years caring for Pedro and Jess and your lovely cat- Aliona couldnt be in better hands whatever the diagnosis and treatment plan x

Thanks a lot, will let everyone know, our appt is in the morning. She’s definitely out of character this week, never seen her chase Luigi, it was little old Jess that got the grief when she first came, he got the kisses! Her appetites still good though bless her, and volume back up again! 🙉 Poor Luigi looks quite confused atm hiding by my feet! :)) x

Yes they’re not looking pleasant at all poor girly, it’s been a long week for us both waiting for her appt! Haha well it’s been quiet for a month-ish, she’s my good, quiet girl these days but here a year with no issues so of course it’s her turn to worry her mum now! :))
Thanks so much, hope she’ll be ok and if needs an op then staying with lovely Aunty Debbie for a day or two (while I miss them both terribly of course!). If she doesn’t stay then I’m going for a week instead for a holiday in the piggy shed! :)) x

Hi, thanks Dave, yes can’t wait to get there and know what’s happening with my little lady! These cute girlies do like to cause us trouble! Yes a nice piggy shed, sounds like a 5⭐️ getaway to me! :))

Her dewlap prob won't shrink. . Florence had her cancer removed 8 months ago . . Size of a egg . . I look and it's well floppy. . . I see it and then fear the worse. .
But i stroke it and its ok. . Tho her chins get wet when she has a drink

Bless her, such a brave girl for all this time! :luv:

Yes just mean as she doesn’t have much ‘pork’ now really so glad she’s still got her dewlap fat ‘storage’! Her bum’s boney and not really the porky, round girl she was, lost condition recently, why I was first worrying about her! Even though her weight’s not changed much and eating well.
I shouldn’t call them the porky pair anymore really! Just Fatty and Lolo!

Don’t think I’ve left Aliona much since she came on 12th Jan last year, with all the Covid madness, so you just know when there’s something a little bit off don’t you!? She’s sick of my crap singing I bet! :))
But still a healthy girly so hopefully she’ll kick whatever this is in the ass like her old mate Jess did! :love:

Thank you :) Haha yup he’s going to need a rest soon if this carries on, he’s a chilled dude now apart from with food! :xd: I don’t chase him around the room with a bit of coriander waving it in his face though, it’s getting a bit much for him poor chap! 🙈:))

Good luck with the vets appointment tomorrow & hopefully the gorgeous Aliona :love: won't need a spay. Although healing vibes & a speedy recovery if she does. :nod: :luv:

My old girl Ellie was 6yrs & had hcg injections for her ovarian cyst, but my vets aren't exotics & don't see many guineas, so weren't willing to operate on her. But the hcg injections lasted 12months, then the cyst started to grow again so she had another pair of jabs at 7yrs. Which lasted until she passed at 8yrs.

She didn't have any textbook signs, just reoccurring uti's & bad bleeds from her genitals.

Sounds like the c&r do multiple spays in a week so that's reassuring :wub:

Ellie had an ultrasound (conscious) to find the cyst. She just had a bit of a shave of her undercarriage, then the gel & ultrasound. Took about 15mins :D
(.... & a few springs of coriander/grass). :whistle:
