Moses and Miriam

Awww this is fantastic news (sorry, just catching up)! I'm so pleased you both have piggies again. This gorgeous couple really have landed on their paws! 🥰 🥰 🥰

I’m sure they will soon get used to their 5* home. First cage clean and weigh in are always hair raising. Well done. You’ve got first nail clip to look forward to 😉
I wimp out and ask Aunty Lilli to nail clip my 3 when they are staying in their holiday accommodation.

Aw, just seen your post, how lovely for you to have piggies again 😊 they are both beautiful

As Moses has 2 black paws I will probably ask the vet nurse to do the first nail trim 😁

Having given them veggies this afternoon I sat quietly near them and talked to them.
Moses came out and found veggies
First time I’ve seen him voluntarily eat out in the open.
Miriam only emerged to grab something and retreat again.
I’m hoping that if Moses is more confident and begins to feel safe, he will encourage Miriam.

Miriam - isn’t she so beautiful 🤩
She had just been put back in the cage after her weight check so hadn’t yet gone into hiding. She’s put on some weight since last week so I’m reassured that she is eating well.

If you look very closely the black void next to Miriam’s golden bum has 2 eyes.
What you can’t see is 2 cute little black front paws out in front of his face.

They are still very shy and skittish but a short cuddle time and piggy whisper techniques will slowly win them round.
In case no-one has realised I am completely besotted with these 2.

I think their confidence is slowly growing.
I was working in my study and heard noises from the cage.
There were both Moses and Miriam out in the middle of the cage munching hay.
Of course as soon as I tried to take a photo they disappeared into hiding.
I did see a little popcorn from Moses too so he’s happy which is positive as it’s only been a couple of weeks since I brought them home.

Sounds like they are doing really well already. 😍

I now have 2 traumatised piggies hiding in a fleece tunnel 😁
Today they were weighed and checked as much as they permitted.
Both seem to have settled with their weight and both have excellent heft.
The quantity of poops created this afternoon in a nice clean cage suggests they are eating well and processing the food very effectively.
They also have their very first carrot cottage having torn up their first hay bag.

We’ll see what they do with this.

Cage clean and weigh in today.
Their weight seems to be stable, both of them around 1100g give or take.
They’re not happy being held and prefer to be held in a snuggle pouch for a short time.

They are much more confident about coming out of hiding while I’m in the room which is definitely progress.

Miriam decided to do some acrobatics and climbed up onto a wooden bridge !

Nice clean cage and fresh veggies to enjoy.

I also decided I needed more cage liners. One lot I looked at were just solid colour fleeces, including black.
Decided that black fleece in a black correx cage meant I would never see Moses again 😁

They sit so nice together in the basket.

Stripe likes to be held in a snuggle sack, too, whereas Chez doesn't even like that. Before Stripe comes home I'm thinking of getting rid of the chair to have a playpen for Chez, then we can have some bonding time.

Moses seems like a gentleman with Miriam.
