So happy about Micah, fingers firmly crossed. Mine aren't keen on lambs lettuce either. They did enjoy some celery earlier though.

No idea.
It may have been that the ultrasound was unclear.
Possibly it was a cyst or a fatty lump which has disappeared of its own accord.
I will get him checked out again before we go to NZ and they go to stay with @PigglePuggle who is a very experienced piggy owner and happy to deal with a piggy who may or may not be ill.

The vet is an experienced exotic vet so it’s unlikely that he got it wrong, he did say the ultrasound was unclear.
Of course, it may be a miracle ⭐️

It is with a great sense of sadness that I’m posting to say that Micah slipped away in his sleep last night. 🥲
He took a sudden downturn on Saturday and died peacefully in his own home.
With some major life changes ahead of us we are ending our piggy journey for now.
Ruth will be going to a fabulous new home with @PigglePuggle and Piggy Daddy in the near future.

I will post a proper tribute to Micah when I feel up to it and draw this thread to a close.
 
Oh I’m so sad to read this - lovely Micah
He was living his best life with you all and especially Ruth
And that’s all our piggies ever want or need
Take care as you grieve as you will miss Micah greatly
Ruth will be happy with PigglePuggle and Piggy Daddy and their tribe
( altho you’ll miss her you know it’s for her )
 
I am so sorry. I am pleased he slipped away quietly at home though.
Ruth will have a wonderful home with Piggle Puggle and Piggie Daddy. I hope one day you will feel able to have piggies again, you are such a wonderful slave. Sending you hugs and my very best wishes at such a difficult time.

So sorry to hear that you lost Micah but good to hear that he passed away in his own home surrounded by those that loved him. I know it must be hard for you to let Ruth go but she will have a fabulous home with @PigglePuggle. Hopefully one day piggies will be part of your life again.xx

So sorry you lost Micah. He had his best life with you sacrificing your waistline for those Hotel Chocolat bags! You gave him lots of happy todays and you're now thinking of what is best for Ruth and you are giving her the best chance of a happy life by letting @PigglePuggle and Piggy Daddy look after her. Look after yourself while you grieve the loss of Micah and the "loss" of Ruth. I hope you still remain on the Forum and that your piggy journey will continue in the future. Don't leave the Forum you are an integral part and will be really missed if you decide to leave.

I’m not planning on leaving the forum and I am moved by your comments as well as your sympathy.
I value the fun and friendships I find here.
We are retiring and moving house this year and have some things we want to do when we have the time.
There will be more piggies in the future- this is a temporary break, a tough choice but better for future piggies.
Thank you for being such a wonderful group of people

I'm so sorry to hear that Micah has slipped away to Rainbow Bridge. :hug: I shall miss reading about his antics, his penchant for sitting on rather than in tunnels, and his rumbly converations with forum sows. He had the best life with you after you rescued him from being labelled as unbondable and gave him the chance to live the piggy dream with his sow-wives.
It's been a sad start to the year with so many forum favourites leaving us for the Bridge. 😢😢
And also there seems to be a bit of a spike in folk having a break from piggy-slavedom...though like you I do hope to have piggies here again at some point...
Ruth will have a wonderful life with @PigglePuggle but it will be strange for you too to start with even though you'll be busy with your sabbatical, travels and moving house etc...
