Merab's Herd

Checking the handsome hunk I discovered there is less hunk than there should be.
So…….. out came the Oxbow Aniseed flavoured Critical Care and he took the best part of a full syringe.
My lovely vet fitted me in this afternoon and he had a good check. Nothing wrong with his tummy, his teeth, his heart or his lungs.
He demonstrated how well his guts are working by depositing a generous helping of poops on the table.
All the vet could find was that he’s bonier around the rear than he should be so he’s on painkillers ( Dog Rheumocom )for the next few weeks.
He’s on a twice daily dose as I have a vet who understands that this is what guinea pigs need.
Hopefully this will help, along with syringe feed to supplement his diet as he is still eating for himself.

This, of course, happens just as we’re about to go on holiday. Fortunately the piggies are coming too.

Vet bill may mean no new Hotel Chocolat bag for them !

I hope the gorgeous hunk will feel better with the painkillers and that your vet appreciated the poops.
You should get a discount on the bill for all these lovely poops.

Ah lovely Micah ❤️ - good to hear after a thorough check up it’s nothing sinister - keep eating lovely Micah and I hope you all have a lovely holiday 🥰

Sending Micha healing vibes just in case. Pleased to hear he passed his medical, perhaps the changes in weather have got to him.

I hope the handsome hunk will soon be a hunk in all senses.

Oh I hate the dreaded unexplained weight loss. Come on Micah - you need to restore your ample derrière again so you can continue to stand guard over your lovely ladies.

Micah was standing up at the bars this morning and seems a bit brighter.
I think the pain killers are helping which suggests he may be getting a touch of arthritis in his hips or back legs.
He reluctantly took more Critical Care today so hopefully he’s eating more hay and will soon regain some of his weight loss.

Good to hear the pain relief is working for him.

Unlike this evening when I gave Micah some Critical Care.
Micah - my syringe, yummmy
Naomi - I want it
Micah - it’s mine
Naomi - mine

Tug or war follows as they both try to eat from the same syringe.

Meanwhile, stage left, Ruth is tucking happily into the bowl of critical care that was meant to distract both girls!

Hello forum friends, we’re on our holidays now.
This is the first time that Naomi and Ruth have been to our holiday cage.
We were very good on the journey but Ruth talked the whole time !
I like the holiday cage, it’s smaller than our cage at home so Naomi and Ruth can’t run away from me so easily.

Slave is happy because my bum isn’t as bony as it was and I feel much better with the yummy medicine.

Love from Micah
