I think that Naomi is really a skinny pig who forgot to take off her pyjamas.
She is loud, eats incessantly without any noticeable weight gain and drinks like a fish!

Dear Beautiful One and Only Thea.
Please can you help me.
There was I sleeping happily in my perfectly made hay nest when the ladies came and started eating it. Ruth messed up the hay and Naomi ate the hay I had carefully arranged round me.
Can you help me, please, I need my sleep .

I will do some extra special loud rumbles for you and I can do enormous, torpedo like poops as well.

Dear Micah

Ruth and Naomi are well out of order! How would they like it if you started to eat their bed? I really wouldn't stand for this behaviour!

You need to stand your ground and not let this happen again. Next time you are asleep and they decide your bed looks a bit on the tasty side, wheek at them and nip them and let them know in no uncertain terms that you're unhappy that they are eating your bed.

Yours hoping that your bed never goes down Ruth and Naomi's throats again.

A Story

Once upon a time there was a large green paper bag. It was quite content with being big enough and strong enough to carry stuff but it still felt it should have a real, deeper purpose.
One day the large, strong, green paper bag found itself stuffed with hay. It was nice soft hay.
It wasn’t happy having its handles cut off though. How could things be carried if there were no handles ?

The bag, now filled with hay, was put into a new place and suddenly found itself occupied………….by guinea pigs.
It found its new and better purpose, giving endless hours of fun to guinea pigs.
It was soon a shadow of its former self and finally passed into paper bag heaven, happy that it had fulfilled its real purpose in life.

She looks so peaceful and quiet, but today Naomi was in season - a strong season.
Micah went into full blown hormonal overdrive and I fully expected a visit from the Noise Abatement Society!

Ruth ‘helped’ by shouting as loudly as she could to add to Naomi’s volume, and Micah who didn’t know whether to wheek or rumble.

They made enough noise to wake me at 4:00 am and went on for several hours before they were all completely exhausted!

Finally managed to do a thorough cage clean yesterday.
As the cage is so large I do it in sections and try to keep the piggies out of my way.
I put in a new paper bag filled with hay to give them something to do other than ‘helping’ me.


It had a new back door before I finished cleaning the cage

We are now just over 2 weeks into the newly formed herd and they have really settled well.
Phoebe is still skittish but getting better. She loves everypig.
Merab is just getting on with being Merab.
Priscilla and Jemimah have sorted themselves out and look as if they’re becoming good friends.
Today, for the first time, Priscilla came out of the cage by herself and happily explored further afield. She and Jemimah trotted around together part of the time. She’s learning from Jemimah and giving Jemimah the active companionship she’s been missing since Keziah died.
We’ve had 2 noticeable seasons which was fun.
I love my little herd.

That was Phoebe on the far left, I lost her to cancer last year. She does look very much like Willow

Could you remind me when Jamimah passed? She was fun to have around with everyone wanting to pignap her. She was my favorite.

Jemimah was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour at the beginning of lockdown in 2020.
We kept her comfortable and pain free
She slipped away peacefully at home one night.
