Hi, I've booked a vet appointment for wednesday but she's suddenly developed a lump! She's just done 3 weeks of sulfatrim for the snuffles but is otherwise healthy :)
She was vet checked Friday as she'd lost 100g in 36 hours and it wasn't there then ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ neither have I noticed it before this morning ๐Ÿ˜ณ hoping its nothing to worry about and a harmless cyst! She was 1196g last Wednesday and 1062g this morning so weight loss has at least slowed down! ๐Ÿ’–
*I shaved the area to get a better look to be able to send a pic to the vets as she is rather floofy!*

Aw bless her. That looks quite big :( Good that you have her booked in at the vets. Here's hoping for something harmless. Edward has a large fatty lump in his neck, another in his armpit and both him and Elizabeth have a couple on their bellies x

Ouch. Glad she has a vet appointment booked.

Thankyou ๐Ÿ’– it would be lovely to be something harmless! I haven't had a break in pet illness (mainly piggies) for well over a year! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

You've had a really awful run of bad luck with pet health @Emx93 paws crossed this is something harmless and benign, and sending many hugs- it is very demoralising when despite the excellent care you clearly give your piggies they still get sick, but well done for spotting this so fast and getting yet another vet appointment. I am sure you feel like many of us sometimes do that you may as well just give your entire income to the vet some months...!

Thankyou ๐Ÿ’– I honestly do feel like 1- I must be a terrible owner for this to keep happening and 2- I may as well move into the vets carpark! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ I admit the credit card we use for vet bills is looking a bit sad ๐Ÿ˜‚

Well done for finding that lump.
They can come up with terrifying speed.
When Jemimah was due surgery to remove her abscess she had a pre-op check and all was well.
Five days later she went for surgery and ended up having an emergency spay as well as cysts had blown up within that time.
I hope that lump is nothing to worry about.
Your pets are all so lucky to have such a watchful and caring owner.

My old RB piggy Cookie threw up a simply huge sebaceous cyst in a matter of days. But it was investigated and never grew any further. Holly also grew an alarming sized sebaceous cyst a couple of years ago. Again it blew up in a matter of days, but then it remained unchanged for months before it had to be removed as it started growing again. I hope that this, too will be a benign cyst. Youโ€™ve certainly had a tough time of it recently with your pets x

Thankyou ๐Ÿ’– Yikes! Honestly I've been checking her over every day since the weight loss started. She has the occasional faint click from her nose but all infection signs were gone and she didn't click at the vets so it was reconmended to try metacam, bisolvon and nebulising incase she still had a bit of a blocked nose/ dried snot stuck up there (no snot on the outside now and to be honest no clicking today either ๐Ÿ˜) and I couldn't feel anything last night so it must've literally blown up overnight! I also mentioned to the vet that she'd been having mad seasons the past few times however we both agreed that likely could be because of all the changes in hierarchy recently, we lost flower then nugget has a big ic flare and marshmallow got the snuffles so they're all a little extra hormonal at the moment (except nugget she's spayed!) but I am keeping an eye incase it's something hormonal too as she's been the most temperamental! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I hope not though!

Thankyou ๐Ÿ’– it appeared overnight and gave me rather a huge shock this morning! I'm really hoping for something harmless too! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Is it generally best to get cysts removed? Xx

I think it depends on the vetโ€™s assessment and where they are and whether they are causing an issue.

Fingers crossed itโ€™s harmless and wonโ€™t grow any more.

Poor baby is looking a bit sorry for herself, wishing next Thursday to hurry up! IMG-20220112-WA0003.webp

Oh poor baby, that looks really sore. Hope everything goes well on Thursday.

yes it does look smaller, poor little lady, hope everything goes well for her on Thursday. My Ginger had a cyst removed which appeared from nowhere last year, it was a similar size, she healed really well after being a little wheezy for a couple of hours after the operation.

Aww glad ginger recovered quickly ๐Ÿ˜ thankyou ๐Ÿ’– hopefully marshmallow will recover okay too ๐Ÿ˜

On the positive its definitely shrinking and tomorrow is op day ๐Ÿ˜ though its leaking white stuff today ๐Ÿคฎ
On the negative her hormonal behaviour is not improving at all so I'm going to ask if they can poke her ovaries again tomorrow, to be honest if she keeps it up I'm probably going to consider an ovariectomy after she's over this!

Good luck for tomorrow, got my fingers crossed everything goes well for the little lady x

It's been a while since I had a piggy op! January 2020 was the last one so I'm a bit out of practice I think plus very nervous ๐Ÿ™ˆ ๐Ÿ™ˆ ๐Ÿ™ˆ
I'm sending a pack lunch with her favourite veggies, fleecy tunnels that smell of home and a friend but I can't decide which friend... ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
Id usually say boss piggy nugget but i dont want to trigger her ic as she flares when stressed and a full day at the vets will be stressful for her so thinking either mal or caramel... Mals cheeky and caramels really shy and quiet so not sure how caramel would cope with a day at the vets! Mal would definitely eat the entire pack lunch herself though! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
