I am in despair - healing vibes needed again

I managed to get both piggies an appointment with Ellie tomorrow afternoon and have negotiated working longer hours next week to make up the time.
Wilf is going downhill despite the syringe feeds but I have asked him to hang on in there and see what Ellie has to say. He makes strange noises at times when he breathes and has sneezed a couple of times as well. Annie has sneezed once while i have been home but is eating a few snacks and some hay.
I feel like there is a dark cloud above my head at the moment but try to remain positive.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow

So sorry you are having such an awful time with Wilf and Annie, sending lots of healing vibes and hugs for you. Hope Ellie can get to the bottom of what’s wrong x

Just read your thread and wanted to send healing vibes to you and to the piggies.

When my Higgins was unwell, he wouldn't touch anything or go near a syringe, he couldn't get enough of porridge oats. He had them dry. My other piggy Gibson went through a similar thing, but had his porridge oats warmed up with oat milk.. Maybe worth a try?

Let us know how you get on, and know that we are all here supporting you and the piggies x

We went to see Ellie today but it wasn't great news. Poor Wilf (I now feel very guilty that didn't take him sooner) He has lost one of his front teeth and the other has been pushed over to the right by his jaw becoming mis-shaped. This is due to what she thinks is an abscess in his jaw so he is now on 3 lots of meds plus syringe feeds and we have to go back in 10 days. If this doesn't work he will have to have an op to drain it, leaving an opening which I will have to flush out every day for weeks. There is only one other option which I don't even want to think about. Please send him big healing vibes.

Sorry to hear Wilf is going through a tough time. Fingers crossed the meds kick in quick and he gets better soon.

Oh poor Wilf and you. Sending love and healing vibes. I hope the meds work xx

@munchmonster I am so sorry to read this - I have been absent from the forum for ages... sounds like you are going through the ringer bug time... sending lots of healing vibes for all the furries & a massive virtual hug for you x

BIG HUGS!

One of my angels Nutmeg had a similar abscess in a tooth root. She had successful surgery and the "open" healing wound technique was easy to manage. I hope you have good luck with treatment. We tried antibiotics first as well. She made a full recovery after the surgery ✨

So sorry for Wilf, abscesses are horrible. The Cat and Rabbit clinic have had success with Zithromax AB’s and regular flushing if it comes to that,Hope not, sending hugs x

Thanks for your posts everyone, they are encouraging. I am having great difficulty getting syringe feeds into his mouth as I don't want to touch his left side as it might hurt him but he moves his head away and keeps his mouth firmly shut (the little rascal). I have offered him some oats but he wasn't interested, I am trying Emeraid and critical care but I'm wearing most of it :( I will keep trying.

Oh he is a little rascal ! I hope you are managing to get some syringe feed into him. It’s very difficult but you’re doing so well ! We’re all cheering you on munchmonster x

@munchmonster I'm so sorry to read these updates! I haven’t logged in on here for a week or so, I’ve only just seen these! Like another poster also offered, if you ever need help getting your pigs to Ellie in Matlock I’d also be willing to offer transportation etc for them while you’re working if you can’t get any more time off! I live about 20-30 mins away from there, so not too long a trek for me, if you’re ever stuck the offer is there! Us piggy parents have to stick together. I hope Wilf makes a speedy recovery, and Annie too, and fingers crossed for them 💞
