Hay

How to speed up the process?

You cant! They will come round in their own time. You can try the piggy whispering tips which we have linked in previously, but they need to have been with you a little bit longer and settled into their surroundings first. It’s generally recommended to not do anything other than feed them and clean their cage for the first week, and then slowly start the whispering tips. But even when you do start slowly introducing some whispering tips or light handling, it could still take many months. One of my piggies took six weeks to feel confident around me but my other one is very nervous and it has taken two years to get more confidence but he still isn’t as confident as the other one and probably never will be. It’s not something you can rush. They are their own characters and will come round in their own time. You do need to be aware that guinea pigs are not always the cuddly creatures they are portrayed to be - most do not like being handled

My piggies never ate hay too when I brought them my home but little by little it became their favorite in about 15 days or so

You’re going to have to be very patient. Piggies are good in the wild and that behaviour is still in them. You can’t rush it.

Can you get a bigger cage?

היי,
Ms leg every few minutes what that say?

hay,
every few minutes my guinea pig leg rotating very fast...
what does that mean?

yes.
i got
Is it bigger than 120cm long? If not it really needs to be. They will not be free roaming yet. And if they’re boys you will have trouble later on. Have you covered the cage? And have you seen poo in there?

I’m afraid you will really have to go bigger. It’s still not enough.

You can maybe try to join it to the other one so they have more space. And put something in between for a bridge.

I've been impatient ...
They always scare me!
How can I play with them like this?
When should they remove the cover?
Try to play with them forcibly?

You can’t do anything yet. You can’t force them. Give them a week to settle in, don’t handle them. Leave the cover on
After one week you can start to offer them food from your hand. It may take weeks before they are comfortable enough to take it from you but that is your first step - getting them to take food from you. Once they’ve taken food from you, you can move on to the next step and see if they will let you touch them a little. You don’t want to be forcing them to be picked up etc, that will scare them and you’ll never gain their trust.
Everything has to be done very slowly and at their pace.
Guinea pigs are not cuddly, playful creatures. They are happier being with their own kind and most will not like being picked up.

I say give them till next Wednesday. If you force them they won’t enjoy it and won’t grow to trust you. And they don’t ‘play’ as such.

Do you enjoy your guinea pig?
Is it worth it at the end?

It’s very worth it. When they want a stroke or come to the bars when you walk past. I don’t hold them much. Only to weigh, check health and cut nails. I enjoy seeing them be piggies.

You really do have to be patient. If you wanted a cuddly pet from the go then piggies aren’t for you I’m afraid. But please don’t take them back. Hang in there and slowly they will come out of their shell.

You really do have to get them an even bigger cage though.

Yes absolutely and I get a lot of enjoyment from just watching my piggies interact with each other.
I’m the same as @Siikibam though, mine don’t get picked up much because they simply don’t like it. They will come over to see me though particularly if they think I’ve got food!
