Guinea pig unable to pass poop !

He is also having wet chin and neck , so maybe malocclusion is the culprit for not eating and getting diarrhoea for now.

Please switch to weighing daily at the same time and to support feeding if needed.

Motu is again down the hill, don't know what went wrong. He is not eating and this is what his poop looks like now. Tiny few droplings covered in mucus

Oh dear, what is going on with our piggies. I'm in a panic now aswell, got Dexter out and he has pulled out all of his stitches. His wound is completely open! Looks like another trip to the vets.

Just do whatever you have been doing as it seemed to pull Motu around before. I am 🙏 that our piggies luck turns around. This really is awful for us to have to cope with and even more so for our piggies x

Even motu is bleeding from one side of his wound,. Surtures are intact but there is blood and the wound is wet. Hope dexter is alright. Dexter will be alright, don't worry. Atleast you have cavy savy there 🥺. I can't even get hold on good probiotics for piggies and critical care. Trying to get some amazon us but the delivery charges are much more expensive than the product's price. Keep updating with the dexter's progress , you are taking good care of him. He will surely make it 😊

Sending healing vibes to both of your piggies. You are both doing a great job. It’s so stressful for us when they are ill. ❤️

One of my piggie isn't accepting syringe feed also. Not swallowing the feed.. today at vets he puked water from mouth and nose. What to do.? Also x rays showed gas in his stomach. How to keep him alive untill he recovers?

He is not eating at all and shows some gag reflex like if he wants to vomit.

Also there is gurgling sound when i squeeze one side of his stomach. Vet here has no idea about this. Any help will be appreciated

Oh no, I'm so sorry things aren't improving. Yer it sounds to me like it could be a blockage or bloat. Please Carry on with syringe feeding and probiotics if you have any. I was at vets also today and looks like Dexter had an abscess and has burst it biting himself. They left the wound open and told me to use Manuka honey on it twice a day x

Is he alright now? Hope he is doing good. Can't feed him more than 1 or 2 ml syringe at once as he is not accepting more than that. I only got dog probiotics, don't know how much of a help are those. After he threw water out of his mouth and nose, i am scared to even help him with his water intake. I read somewhere about liquid bloat in guinea pigs , that might also be the case. Will go tomorrow again to the vet.

He seems ok in himself just won't stop biting his wound. The Manuka honey seems to have settled him a bit. Just try and get as much into him as possible but slowly, so he has chance to swallow. If I were you, I would try some of the dog probiotics, just a little bit, mix a little in with the syringe feed. The same with the water, help him very slowly. Yer, mention about the bloat to the vet. I got prescribed emeprid and metacam before when one of my piggies had bloat x

Hmm.. i am doing the same, mixing probiotic in syringe feed and water .

So, today morning i found this in my other piggies bedding, he was not pooping from 2-3 days and is having bloat.

A sperm rod perhaps? He'll feel better now that's out.
You're both doing a fabulous job for your poorly piggies. Keep going x

Yes I think a sperm rod too. As he’s been poorly he’s probably not cleaning himself so well “down there”. If he keeps bleeding though I’d get him checked out.

Hi, how is he today?
Motu is fine, not too good but he is atleast eating when offered food.
But the other one isn't ok, he was bloated today very badly. Vet pricked his tummy with a needle to ease some gas but he is not eating since yesterday. He is not even chewing a 0.2 ml of syringe feed. Any suggestion how to deal in such case? How am i supposed to force feed him when he isn't swallowing a bit 😞

One more thing, the vet has recomment to give a last try by performing surgery on him if the medication don't work at all.

Have you got something that vibrates such as a massage pillow or electric toothbrush? If so put this against his tummy to try get the gas moving and released. Or you could just gently massage his tummy with your hands. Do you have access to any gripe water?x
