Difficulty eating after dental work

Right now I'm waiting for my little Joe to come back from the vet after dental works. Its been a rough couple of days for both of us. Happily he has kept eating some things thru pain and a bad reaction to antibiotics. To see your little girl fight back and be happy and around gave me some more confidence. What a strong girl and a great human she has ❤️
Good luck Joe ❤️

Just a quick update!

Ori is doing brilliantly, she is eating without any issues even though she’s minus a tooth!

The abscess is still there but getting smaller.

She’s happy, bright and her usual self! Her weight has increased from 850g to 930g within the space of about 10 days! 😍

Here is a picture of her and then one with her sisters!

We all want to thank you for your amazing support! ♥️
That’s great news. ❤️

Hope it’s gone well for Joe
Joey's home! A bit drowsy and in pain, but he perked up when he realized he was home. The first thing he did was to eat hay and watermelon with a big appetite and nice bite. He actually gained 200g in 10 days 😵 I guess my brain didnt recall that fact during every day weighing, I was just happy he didnt loose weight.
His brother is very happy he is home and even more happy he's to drowsy to protest to the bumm-scan. He sounded like a hoover and shined like a 7year old on Christmas eve when he could hear Joe talk.

Joe sends some drowsy love to Ori 😍

I'm so pleased he's home and happy! Well done to you too and hope you can get some respite from all the worry now!

Sending loads of healing vibes to the little man from us all down here in Cornwall

Awww thank you so much for your lovely comment!
I’m so sorry you had to go through a rough time with your little Joe!

I really hope he is recovering well! ♥️

I do hope Joe has had a successful op and that he carries on eating post op..Always a worrying time but hopefully he's over the worst now and on the road to recovery very soon.

Such great news about Ori and all credit to you, Franny. All your hard work and dedication has really paid off!
Thanks so much Trish 🥰

Just another update!

We had a 7 day post op check up today! Simon really happy with the progress Ori has made 🥹. She’s managed to gain nearly 100g in a week.

Her abscess is a fraction of the size it was!

Only thing that was a bit squiffy was her right upper incisor is slightly longer than the left, but this makes sense as it was her right lower incisor they removed.

We are going back in 2 weeks for a full dental check. Hopefully this will be long enough to see how her teeth growth is progressing without that bottom incisor. We should know more about the long term management at this point.

Just want to thank everyone again for being here whilst we were on that very difficult emotional rollercoaster when Ori was at her most poorly! ♥️

She is so well in herself, and I can honestly say, if someone met her for the first time tomorrow. They wouldn’t even know what a journey we have been on in these last few weeks!

Ori sends kisses 🥰

I’m so pleased she’s done so well. It’s all down to your hard work. When my Pepper had his abscess I thought he’d never get better or eat for himself ever again. It’s so stressful and tiring caring for a sick piggy. ❤️

Just goes to show how much can be done when you see the experts and get such specialised care which is spot on! Ori is a very lucky little piggie to have an owner who was literally prepared to put in all those extra miles to save her life.

Happy munching, Ori and fingers crossed that her teeth align well and adapt to the missing incisor xx

Hi all,
Just another update. We are a few weeks on from surgery now and Ori is completely back to her old self.

She has adapted to the missing incisor no problems!

Her weight is up to over 1000g now too! She dropped to just under 800g at her most poorly!

Here’s a pic of her the other day with her sister Ruby (my ginger floof), looking back to her chunky self!

Just wanted to thank everyone again for all your help and support at such a stressful time!

♥️

Fabulous news and well done you! It was a huge struggle but you pulled out all the stops and saved Ori. The surgery was so important but just the beginning and keeping her going was all down to you and your skills! xx
