Dental for Trixie

Unfortunately Northampton is too far. I'll take her to my normal vets and point out her front teeth. They'll have to sort something. I can't keep spending hundreds on CC because her front teeth are wrong. And it is just her fronts now because if food gets to the back, she's fine. It's just a case of picking it up.

So she eats normally once the food is in? Can you get a pic of the incisors?
Yeah, it's just the front teeth. That's why she can eat nuggets. I gave her some grass as hay seems to be an issue and she can eat, but it's super slow. She can eat tomato and cucumber, providing I cut it up for her. So the back teeth are working, it's the fact she can't pick it up or bite properly. I'll try to get a picture later. I'm letting her have a bit to eat.

It sounds like the back teeth aren’t correct. She shouldn’t be eating slowly once it’s in, if the teeth are okay. It would be useful to see a pic of the incisors.
No, it's slower because she takes more time to pick it up. The vets have checked the back teeth several times and they say they are fine.

Just looking at those bottom incisors, I can tell you now, there is a back teeth issue.
What am I supposed to do? The vets say they are fine. The vets keep looking at her back teeth, that's what they look at.

I have to agree - small pets experience doesn’t mean they are experienced in dealing with such complex issues as piggy teeth.

I really hope you can get her sorted out.

Given that she has recently had teeth removed, it wouldn't be surprising if she was eating mostly on one side because of pain on the other side, leading to uneven wear of the incisors. Sorry if I've missed it elsewhere, but are the two teeth that were removed opposing ones, because if they weren't that would also lead to uneven eating and teeth wear?

However, and this is just my personal experience, when my Squeaks started having his incisors wear unevenly ( and break occasionally), it was eventually diagnosed at the Cat & Rabbit to be due to pulpitis in one of his incisors - over 18 months his molars overgrew very little.

Oh my Twixie’s teeth do look bad 😞 I’m still wondering why the vet has removed molars 😞 I really do hope you can get her sorted x
I don't know why. They did it not me. They found more issues than anticipated. I can't do much about it now they've done it.

Anyway like I said, I'm taking het back.

Okay, I finally have the full picture. They were going to bring her in for regular dentals every few months because of the back teeth removal. The vet found more issues than they thought so the teeth trimming wasn't done as far down as they hoped. She has to go back at some point. Until then it's CC. They're confident they'll sort her this time.

Okie dokie- just to clarify, have they actually removed one of her molars?
