I reread the message and they said to stay in the car on their drive... 🤦‍♀️ I really don't see the point to be honest they'd see more through facetime because there'd be noway I'd be winding windows down 🤷‍♀️ still a no from me I will withstand the reprocussions 🤷‍♀️ xx

More tests are being carried out at work. I feel like I'm sat here waiting for the inevitable temperature/cough/taste issue.... or something. ☹

I feel fine, bit of a sore & lumpy throat, like I'm being strangled from within. I get like this when I'm anxious though so I'm not concerned. I haven't felt like this in a while as even though covid is creeping ever closer this time around, my anxiety has been completely manageable for ages. Maybe because I was doing all I could to protect myself/others & had accepted that it will hit whoever it wants to.
 
Watching the news 👀 can't believe they are planning on keeping schools etc open during a new national lockdown 😑😒

i have to admit, I don't want schools to close ( not secondary, anyway). My (autistic) 15 year old works much better at school - for him, school is for schoolwork, home is for fun & relaxation. I found home schooling during the first lockdown very stressful; it was a bit better last month when his school had a 'circuit breaker' closure and they did all lessons live on google classroom, but as he is in his GCSE year I really want him to be at school learning properly, doing the tests and mocks and getting prepared for his exams thoroughly.

I'm so torn on the schools issue - my children have been so much happier being back school, but I work in a school and I’m mixing with so many different people each day and while the adults distance from each other, we can’t completely distance from the three/four year olds in our care

Perhaps if they split 50/50, that would allow them to fully social distance the kids, those that need to or want to be in school are but don't fine the ones that want to keep their children at home?

It's so difficult, there's no easy answer.... Perhaps they could have Year7s, 11s and 13s in school as they are new starters and exam years , while the rest do lessons on line.
Personally I think this whole situation, along with trying to help the economy recover after it, and doing something significant about climate change, demands a national government like in World War 2, not party politics etc.

I agree, mine are in primary school, they hold hands, helll they lick each other, they cuddle, they kiss, they hug their teachers, masks are banned in primary school. It's a covid breeding ground, it'll take one asymptomatic kid to take down the class, the teachers and the families of those in the room 😱

I’m laughing at the licking. My eldest girl has told me how others in the class hug and kiss. Told her not to, but don’t think she does anyway.
 
I could've sworn I'd said already but apparently not, my test came back negative on Wednesday. I've just been dealing with the post-viral fatigue of a sinus/throat/ear infection instead lol.

I have discovered one little bright side to all the chaos though, I've lost weight! I'm not sure how, and I thought maybe my clothes were just stretching out in the wash or something. And the newer stuff in my size, well they must just be sizing it bigger now right? :doh: trust me to find the long way round lol, but not owning scales makes it harder to notice these things I guess.
 
I shouldn’t laugh but I don’t understand why people bought so much toilet paper. It doesn’t cause diarrhoea!

That’s true, but this was ridiculous. Fingers crossed. Luckily I just bought some. Though we could do with more pasta. Our hand was forced when people were buying things out. We had to do the same in order to have food ag home. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I know, but it's called panic buying for a reason, and nobody thinks clearly when they're in a panic. Nobody wants to run out of essentials and be stuck indoors in isolation with no way of getting what they need, and if they can get it it may take hours. It's not selfish in the normal sense, nobody's going "we need these more than someone else", just "we need these".

As someone who lives alone with no local family or friends 8 can understand the thought process. I don't like it, but it is what it is.

I can understand why people do it. It’s also the unknown they were having to deal with. We’ve never been told to stay behind closed doors and only go out when necessary.

isn’t there a shop that recently banned people from buying too many of some things...or am I confused?
 
I think most of the big supermarkets have shifted their policies on buying things again but I don't know, tbh. I've barely had enough energy to sit in a chair and stare at the TV all week lol, I've been avoiding any news updates as much as possible.
 
I admit I haven’t watched the news very often recently. I only heard about this while listening to the radio and the information leak!
 
I've seen the odd bits on my phone, that Asda and Tesco and I think Morrisons had changed some policies, but I didn't read the articles themselves. I'm still buying 98% of my stuff online so that's not really going to change much for me.

But I need to change GPs, I need to start organising my flat to find what space is available for a guinea pig cage, I need to get that sorted and bought. Maybe that's selfish of me but that's the biggest effect another lockdown will have on me and it annoys me a wee bit. Still, rather another lockdown than the alternative, always.

It’s not entirely selfish if it’s helpful for you.
 
A lot of the supermarkets have limited items for sale to avoid panic buying.

Given this news today, it looks like we are taking a different approach and explaining the reasons for the action.

We should (United Kingdom) all take the same approach and work towards elimination we are an Island, and have the ability to control who enters our country.
 
Heard about the lockdown as well, torn about the schools staying open but I’m glad they’re at least enforcing something, can honestly say I’ve been sensible but seen so many questionable things from others!
 
Schools definitely remaining open, oh works in a warehouse so can still go to work I think so nothing different for us as we only do school and work anyway 😂
