COVID-19 Coronavirus

I didn't see it... but saw about the minister breaking the rules and thought he isnt the only one! Lots of people have continually done that...
Yeah they have which I don't agree with. I just don't agree with the pm standing by Cummings when it seems he's broke lockdown 3 times if all the story's are true. He kept cutting people off and not answering all their questions too during the questions segment. I looked on twitter and nearly everything that's in the top 20 trending is about Boris and Dominic Cummings. People are very angry understandably as he was the one that helped create the rules.

I like keir starmer. His clarity when speaks. I don't know much about him, but I think he would have been better at handling the UK than Bozza.

I'm fearing this virus never getting a vaccine and it never going away. The new normal is how we will have to live out our lives. I'm sick of queuing at supermarkets, I'm sick of the social distancing.

Just a little update on my pap aka grandad to most people. The funeral is at 11am on 3rd June, we are all going to it, social distanced and every household of people must be 2metres apart. Its only close family.

The funeral directors are going to drive the route my pap used to walk to the local cafe, just to give him his last wish, he said he couldn't wait to get out of hospital and go to his favourite cafe down the road.

They are also going to play his favourite songs that we chose, on a portable CD player at the grave side. It all has to take place outdoors. Just hoping the weather holds out. It is what it is though after all 👍

I just think the press make it all over the top... I dont think he should loose his job over it, I dont agree with what he did but just my opinion..

Ah ok. Sounds like i should just forget about it. It seems they have made the rules vague, so that they can blame the public on whatever the results of the lockdown ease is.
Yeah, I think a lot of people who were following rules will now think, well if he can do it, so can I.

What did everyone think to the pm's speech today? I think I've lost all faith in the government now.
My thoughts won’t get past the word filter. I am beyond angry that normal decent folk have endured impossible hardship for the collective good, yet that man has been defended, called “responsible” and “acting with integrity“ for breaking the rules many others followed. They might as well pull down their trousers and pants and pee on every last covid grave. It is shameful hand I have never been more angry about the government than I am right now.

I agree. I think they've now lost any integrity they had.

Will be thinking of you and your family.

Disgusted with him. He stood there all "we don't want people to think its one rule for you & one for us...." knowing full well it is one rule for us & different for them! How many Gov people is that now breaking rules? Did DC not have any other family nearby (closer than 260 mile away) that could help? People with symptoms & their entire household are meant to stay inside their own house for 14 days are they not?

Then Boris was so rude cutting the questions, typical top dog. No idea how to answer questions, goes all round the houses to try answer & rude too! I ended up shouting at TV & turning it off.

I've had a couple of bad days this week. Person in the village is still testing positive for the virus & still splashing all over facebook that he's been out for walks whilst wearing a mask. His kids have "socially distanced" seen other members of family... what chance do we have!

Apparently Dominic has a sister who lives in London and many friends who live in London. I heard his elderly parents didn't even look after his child. They just dropped food on the doorstep of the adjoining house he was in so why did he need to travel up there?

That way of doing funerals is standard practice now.
It does make it so much harder for families.
If your pap is being cremated ask about the crematorium having the facility to webcast - a lot do now and it enables family and friends who can’t be at the service to watch.

You can also plan to hold a thanksgiving for him after all this is over.

Will be thinking of you

Thank you 🙂. He's being buried on top of his wife, my nan. ❤

Dominic Cummings is man of integrity .... "Integrity" comes from the Latin "integer" meaning whole, complete. The opposite I guess could be 'two-faced'. We have now seen what DC is, up to now he's been a bit faceless, he's a spad, not an elected MP or qualified, trained and impartial civil servant, but now we know. A man of integrity - he's not a two-faced ***** , he's a complete and total ***** .

Ferguson and that Scottish medical expert had to resign for going on unnecessary journeys, though they weren't unwell. DC's wife had the virus. I'm sure the health authority in the north east would have been only to have to have to treat her as well, in addition to anyone else his family might have infected. As if it wasn't both a very not well off area and a high virus fatality area too ...

Any one see the daily briefing today? I watched DCs car crash address to the public but as it ran so late missed the briefing!

Anything of interest on it?!

That means the poor making the clothes are working aswell then.
It's a tough one. I always think theyre probably overworked for little money but apparently because of covid people in Bangladesh etc are getting no money to feed themselves and their families as a lot of clothing companies have cancelled orders. There's a company called lost stock box that are selling clothes for £35 so the workers and there families get something. The boxes are worth £70 but you won't know exactly what you'll receive.

The usual graphs and number of deaths.

Also he mentioned the schools opening to some from Monday and some none essential shops and outdoor markets.

I don't give a toss about shops opening (I've got no money to spend anyway, as still no word about extending the self employed scheme). What I do care about, is when I can see my grandchildren and my family. I am getting really upset about the lack of regard for family life and those of us who live alone! I feel forgotten!

Mum said this, we haven't seen my nepwhew for just over 12 weeks now. He is only 18 months old so we have missed so much whilst not being able to see him. When someone asked Gov other week on daily briefings if would be safe for vulnerable people to meet family/ go out they couldn't actually say! We are not bothered about shopping, it's going to be completely different & probably chaotic if everyone flocks to Primark like they did KFC & garden centres but we would like to see family/friends at some point this year!

I accept I’m not going to see Hannah for a while as she’s type 1 diabetic but Ellie and the grandchildren have no health issues and neither do I.

This is us too. Jessica has only met her Nana because she moved in with us as she was isolated and suffering emotionally. My brother, SIL, niece and nephew have seen her briefly from a distance while dropping off an afternoon tea for us. My husband's parents are not doing well, his dad had a stroke in Jan so his mum is caring for him but not even able to get conversation without a lot of effort as he is struggling with his speech. Jessica is their first grandchild and two months old this week, they have missed so much and no amount of photos and video calls can make up for that. We've made the decision for their mental well-being that they can visit. This is timed with husband's annual leave next week, they are completely isolating beforehand and are under strict instructions to drive straight here, no stopping at service stations unless his mum is tired and needs to rest but not to get out the car. They will be here a few days and will do the same when going home. I have to admit I am very nervous for little Jessica but at some point we need to do this
