COVID-19 Coronavirus

Yes my Rose is a special one too, got flea allergy dermatitis so used to lick herself silly and have bald patches everywhere from one spot, on steroids for years but that’s stopped once indoors too! Save a fortune at the vets with her (touch wood!) these days! Although she did have a thing for one of the vets and liked rolling around the table for him on her visits :))
Babybelle is on long term medrone she still scratches herself silly unfortunately 😕

Hubby is pre-booking deliveries every week and slots are almost gone. We just need to get the weekly supply for piggies and of course milk and bread for us. We already have enough of the other things we need. Because hubby has compromised health, we can't really go to the shop. If we run out of something before the next delivery next week, he has to take me to town and I'll go to the shop, while he stays in the car. Fingers crossed that won't happen though.

Have you got neighbours who could shop for you if delivery is a problem?

We have a mutual support offer with our neighbours who have got one high risk family member while my own hub is at increased but not high risk; just bordering the age group that has been told to distance themselves socially.
Like you, I have offered to do the shopping while he stays in the car if necessary. We don't feel we have the right to order delivery (not that there are any free slots although I assume that Sainsbury's are currently going to through all the delivery orders to weed out the undeserving ones).

Eurovision is the latest casualty of coronavirus! Not that it would have gone ahead with how things are....

I have suddenly developed a need to itch my nose ☹ I don't itch it obviously but it is beginning to drive me nuts!

A lot of our neighbours are elderly or has disability as well. Only a few are not but with young kids. Hubby said this small village used to be for the elderly and disabled only. Anyway, we have a full freezer and fridge at the moment and we have weekly pre-booked delivery for the next 3 weeks. The minimum amount required for delivery is just for the guinea pigs. 😂

Hubby has been asking his parents (who are in their 80s and live in Liverpool) to do online shopping as well or ask him to do it for them just to stop them going out a lot. My in-laws don't realise it's that serious. MIL still went to the gym on Monday and went on the bus, they have their own car! They were still planning to go on holiday next week down South and only cancelled it yesterday because the coach phoned them up about cancellations. 🤦‍♀️

Regarding the prescriptions, I have princess on tramadol and metacam and babybelle on medrone... Does this mean I can only order one of those things 😱 also none last a month bar the steroids 😕
As that’s just my local vets I’m not too sure, why I asked if anyone else had received anything, maybe it’s worth a phone call or looking on their website if they’ve got one? Mine are doing daily updates on it now apparently! A bit worrying for pet owners on long term meds :( Hopefully it won’t get to that though and you’ll be ok. Maybe they’re just warning people x

I'm now thinking of ringing and ordering tramadol though I only get a smalll amount at a time so it doesn't go to waste with her needing a low amount good days and high amount bad days 😔 she is palliative but its a human medicine so I'm now worried, I don't need it till Tuesday really but 😬

Might be a good idea, especially with it being for her that needs it so much bless her. It’s not like you’re ordering a gallon of it but very important x

We had to use it her second night with us to get a diahhrea sample (turns out she had clostridium) 🙄 it was so liquidy I had to use the Katkor pippete because thhe scoop it just ran off 😷 she also sprayed the wall with it, it was everywhere 😷😷😷 poor baby thankfully it was soon fixed! 💖
:vom::vom: TMI !

Tesco is closing all 24 hour stores from 10pm tonight to help restock for coronavirus

Tesco should be shutting all 24 hour stores tonight at 10pm so get there early in the morning and you should get toilet roll or veg if you have ran out.

Aldi had loads in last night in Newport Wales. I left it alone for old people to get, Its gona be alright I think, things are getting better
be good if they then made it elderly / disabled people in first so they could get their items..

How many loo rolls do you have left before you go buy more, and it doesn't count as selfish panic buying.... :hmm:
not bragging but i have 48 ( bought 2 packs of 24 just before all this panic buying started as i went to Makro with my boss for sweets and saw them on offer ) glad i did get them but am now thinking - Do i buy more when I see them as they won't last forever...... but don't want to panic....

Well we all know whose house we'll be visiting now if we need the toilet next month @artcasper :)

You can all come to mine for veggie curry seeing as I have tonnes of food, then pop round to see @artcasper to use the loo :)
Sounds good to me! Went veggie again for the new year after 6yrs of meat, these blooming hoarders obviously trying to starve me and my piggles! Got some mansized tissues earlier as still no loo roll round my end, so I’ll stick them in my bag for the way up, sure a very nice curry then a visit to you @artcasper! 🙂No pinching Luigi though! :))

Anyone else had an email from their vets? My local one’s sent one saying you need to wait outside at the practice and text them then they’ll call you in! And offering video calls for £25! Which you’ll then get back if you have to go for a consultation! Never done that before!
I had an email from my previous vets in Marlborough saying that they are offering video calls for those want.
They’re asking that only one person comes in with a sick pet and are happy for people to wait in the car park if preferred.
I don’t know what my new vet is saying but we do have an appointment next week for Micah so will see what they say

Haha a curry, you'll need 100 bog rolls

Think it’s a good idea for non-urgent cases definitely. But hopefully no restrictions on meds as my vet practice has said, thankfully my OAP cats aren’t on any long term meds and piggies and chins aren’t these days. But horrible for others worrying I bet :(
Hope gorgeous Micah does well at the vets

I worry about all Debbie's dental pigs and needing ongoing treatment, like filing down and stuff. Horrible situation if there is a lockdown or the vets lockdown or get the virus

Hopefully in special cases and with people that aren’t showing symptoms etc it won’t be an issue. Really hope not. Will admit I’m a bit worried though as don’t have emergency vets here now, have to travel to Leamington without a car 😳Not a clue what I’ll do. God it really is mad matey.

Oh gosh never thought of that, I think vet care will be a big concern for all of us but especially for rescues or anyone who needs regular treatment 😬

Its going to be a cruel mess to some out there with pets, an absolute impossible time to go through.

So schools are closed on Friday until further notice & exams in May/June not to take place. I wonder where nurseries & under 5s fit into this?

Is there any positive news out there about coronavirus? Any tiny glimmer of hope?
