COVID-19 Coronavirus

Sorry guys, it's me who started the conspiracy crap, I'm not actually into conspiracy theories, but I ended up in a conversation with a worker at the Premier inn I was staying at last night, and you know when someone tells you stuff very convincingly, and starts handing you a pack of face marks from the stock cupboard, then goes on about biological warfare, it's sort of temporarily changed my look on things, I didn't aim to spread fear. I have to admit, I'm scared and I don't normally get like this.

So hands up, it sme who's turned this thread into a debate. I'm struggling with working away on my own, I don't have anyone close to talk to

You don’t have to apologise mate, that is what we are here for. I am scared too, the tone at work this week has shifted and we are all a little jittery as in full planning for a close down at some point which means it has gotten a little real.

Its okay to be scared, worried, anxious. But try and listen to experts they are the ones we have to trust. Conspiracies sound convincing, even I started thinking about one yesterday and I always take the p155 out of a mate who is well into it all... but then you gotta think no one wants this chaos at all it is counterproductive we are all interlinked.

We are an animal - this is a virus.

We will find a way through this, just look after yourself and those around you.

Looks like we timed when to go back from our holiday before all these commotion happened (we got back on Monday). Seems Nevada is now in locked down according to hubby and we traveled to California and Nevada. When Thomas Cook gone bust, we also just got back from our holiday in America a week before.

We have another holiday booked to Calgary in Canada on June. With the current situation, looks like our flight will also be cancelled. At the moment, Air Canada is offering a one time free rebooking (but only for dates this year and if you booked on March). But we chose the dates because it's the only season Banff is not covered in snow when we visit. Fingers crossed we get refunds for our flights. Not really sure if our flight insurance will cover the cost for this situation.

In his most recent speech, he said his most important job is to protect the US citizens. Despite wearing his toupee, I am glad he said that.
I have three neighbors that are die hard Trump fans, they have signs in their yards that day “TRUMP PROUD”, one house has a cardboard cutout of Trump on their front porch, and the man next door wears a bright bold American flag jacket that says Trump proud on it. They are very obnoxious, lol. I am not sure how anyone can be that proud of some of the stuff he says and tweets. I am somewhat ashamed to admit now that I voted for him, but it was mostly just because I really didn’t like the other choice.

Just checked my local farm shop.... No hay 😭 I can't get any, and I'm not in to take delivery's. I have stock but itl last about 2 weeks max. Can somebody link me some hay I can order online and il try get it to my mum and dad's house

Hay-and-straw.co.uk you can get 9.5kg next day delivery for £18. Otherwise try a few different farm shops. I'm over to the garden centre on Sunday as running low on hay but a whole bale should do me well for a while as long as we don't have more bad weather

is this hay good quality and nice and green? I currently use timithyhay.co.uk but wasn't very impressed with the last batch

They used to be excellent but I've not used them in years as too expensive with my hoard.
Just made a purchase from them, even if it's just a stand by one in the future. Hopefully the girls like it though

I've just lugged 10kg of hay a mile on foot lol, it's meadow hay, but it looks a tad greener than usual, so that is in stock now. Just going to get rat nuggets stocked up tomorrow hopefully, but that's not nearly as important as hay for the pigs. Nuggets I don't care about running out. Thnaks for the website mention

You might need to moisturise more often. I'm struggling with dry, itchy knuckles at the moment. Think it was verging on dermatitis. Baby is sucking all my hydration plus all the extra trips to the loo so additional handwashing is taking its toll. Maybe save your expensive one for night time and get a cheaper one to use a couple of times through the day. Never underestimate proper hydration too. I used to keep a reusable drinking bottle at work, if it's sat in front of me I remember to drink more often

I am using rehydrating cream on my knuckles for the same reason; I wash my hands a lot with so many piggies anyway.

I order from them occasionally. It's less hay for £18 than I get by the bale for £7.50 locally but most of the time is good quality. I generally buy the ings hay and it's nice long strands that the piggies burrow into

I purchased the Timothy hay, hopefully I'm not too disappointed. It's better than nothing and with only 4 girls, it lasts plenty of time

I’ve only ordered online from timothyhay and it’s always been absolutely fine. I ordered the soft hay the last time.

On another note, yesterday we had choir practice and a lady moved back a pew because I was coughing. She didn’t mean to offend but I did feel a little...☹️ I understand her fears, but I don’t have corona. I caught a cough/cold last week which triggered my asthma. It’s just the lingering cough. Because of her reaction I’m not going to church until it’s gone. Hopefully by next week 🤞🏾

Same.
Even on the Primary Election last Tuesday on March 10th, the only candidate I recognized was Trump. I didn't even know who all the other candidates were on the ballot.
But from what I can tell, there are two possible candidates competing for the presidency in the Democrat's party and both candidates are rather popular. It will be interesting to see who wins.

I've just ordered haybox fine. At some point in the past I must have set up DP parcels to go to local Matalan and that's where it goes. You can definitely get it sent somewhere to collect, don't worry 👍

All the Scottish schools are closed.
Too early this I think. Kids will be out on streets. If you go into your town and people are in pubs, cafes and restaurants and shopping merrily then no need to shut schools yet.
I think banning sports and gatherings over 500 would be the time and we missing boat on this... I guess money at Cheltenham talks there....

I've managed to stock up around 13kg of meadow hay now, but il have to spot clean the pigs less to help use as little hay as possible. I'm stocking more hay tomorrow

I have about 5 kg of Timothy aswell

All county public schools here have gone to online learning here. Last evening I saw a fresh round of hoarding behavior at the grocery store. I kinda wanted to yell at people and tell them the coronavirus is not a threat to the water supply so there is no need for bottled water. But I kept my mouth shut.

Major sports events have been cancelled. That's disappointing many of my friends and family on Facebook, though I think most realize that it is necessary. That's also a bit of a blow to the local economy. The NCAA Tournament was about to happen, one of the three biggest sports events in this country, and the Final Four was to be held in Atlanta.

Many churches have switched to conducting services only online. Something gets lost when we're not actually meeting together in person, but it is necessary. Hopefully I can figure out how to show the video feed on my television.

The boys complain that I don't feed them enough, as always. I have plenty of hay and pellets, and so far people are not hoarding fresh vegetables.

This has all changed today with all football matches postponed. The London Marathon has been postponed until October. The endomarch in London has been postponed but most likely to be completely cancelled. Absolutely the right decisions

Stay safe over there.

our sporting events stopped also. I love Wolves my local (soccer team )football to us. We are having the greatest season ever since I been alive... but needs must.
Like you - I agree the local economy as well as big business are all going to lose out in this. I am concerned not only for the loss of life the virus will cause, but the damage on people’s lives through loss of earnings.. people will lose jobs, houses etc...

I wish we as a species would find a way of giving everyone a good quality of life. As Mrs SB recanted today after reading a meme saying the following ‘If you people are getting upset at those hoarding toilet roll, we should get upset at those that hoard the majority of the worlds wealth’ :(
We have a planet that has enough for us all, but some humans are so greedy and power hungry

My Dad's care home is about to go into lock down. The care home is on a uni campus, which has an outbreak, and he has heart failure. Need to go and say goodbye to him for a bit 😣

This is what happened here. They closed all schools this week and people started to work from home but a lot of people from Madrid took it as holidays and they are even travelling all around Spain... and what is happening now is that they are spreading it because some of them are being tested positive in the cities they are now...
This is why the government has declared a state of alarm from tomorrow.

Edit: @Black piggies hope everything goes well

Stay stay mate, if places lock down they have to not treat it as a jolly or it goes south quickly...

I am using my emollient cream that I get for my psoriasis on my hands at night time and a cheap one through the day as I try to avoid chapped hands. When at work I wash them a lot anyway but have stepped that up in an effort to show my 2 year olds how to wash their hands properly.

I feel like my anxiety has gone a bit haywire in the last week, for lots of reasons. So I'm sorry if I have come across a bit ranty. My manky throat isn't helping me right now either. It's so easy to vent away on here as I don't know you all...
