Specialist Cocoa Poorly Lip And Congested. Pls Help. Photos

not a new problem as we know since we got her she had bad legs. SORRY it's her left. it's possible more noticable now as she has less space and alone with Heidi and Chloe warchin her. .
Kaths says she's draging it more. I have a vid but can't download it arrrrr
I do hope the leg problem is temporary.
Poor Cocoa - it’s all happening to her.

Glad you will be seeing the vet again in the morning. How does she seem in herself?
hi. in herself she's ok. She's eatin and gettin around a bit. She's sleep in a lot BUT so are all the other piggies. The legs are not letting her move as piggies should so she drags. some times I think oh oh she's tryin and a little movment but only very slight. Bless her. I've given her little chance of injuring herself by removin high stuff.

You should speak to the vet first, but I have had good success with leg issues using Johnsons 4Joints. Here is a link to it.
Johnsons 4 Joints Extra Strength Liquid for Dogs and Cats | Chemist Direct I gave 0.3 ml once a day

thanks that's good to know and a big thanks. We see what vets says. I hope she can get some quality back. xx. Am I right to keep her separated.

Maybe let her have a bit of time with her friends and see how it goes. It might perk her up and encourage her to move around more.

I’d let her have time with the others, Dave. They are a devoted and well bonded group. I’m sure she will benefit from their love and support,
Sending hugs and very best wishes to you all. Hope Cocoa is beter soon. X
Good luck at the vets.

Thinking of you, Kath and poor Cocoa and sending lots of good vibes xx

Hope she's running around again soon
After vets wed. we home and I'm gona clean girls home so we put them together.
I'm my eyes keeping her single is protecting her but compared to piggie love I'm nothing to Heidi who is chomping at the bars to get to her. They one meal eat each others hay through the C and C.. @VickiA thank you I'm pretty blinded at the moment but you are right . . thanks x

Hi all. we are so upset as Cocoa is strugglin. The vet was shocked and suprised to see her like that. Very after long talk it was total guess work of why. . Friday she was ok and now her back left leg is usless. After test she has feeling in her legs but can't control them. Seems her brain is tellin them to move but they are not.
Could be blood clot. could be nerve damage. could be spinal damage. Could be disc problem.
Course I pointed out Friday she could get into a hay tray and get around now after she can't walk only drag herself around.
Kris suggested another xray whilst she was awake to see if any damaged been done or give us idea what's going on. (I'm not too pls to be charged £70 for it after) So a ct scan and a mri scan at another vets if it doesn't mend. WHAT.
So we at a loss and let's hope nature can help. I'm hoping it's nerve and with metacam and human rubbin her legs we can get her better. It's a very sad sight seeing her drag her back end.
We went for a biopsy on her mouth but that's been forgotten at the moment. results later but what do we do.
We put her back with Heidi and Chloe and Heidi wasted no time in having a hump but Cocoa has NO defence only to object with vocal. . noise.

She is eating and pooping ok which is always a good sign.
I don't mean to moan but I feel helpless and i can't fix her.

Oh guys, my heart breaks for you. Just keep up the good work that you are doing. I am sure the massage will be helping even if only in a small way.
Have you tried her with a vitamin c supplement. i know she will get a lot from her diet. However I have heard of a few cases of dragging back legs being cause by lack of vitamin C. It can't hurt to try it even if it doesn't help.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, just trying to wrack my brains to see if I can think of anything that might help you.

Oh Dave! I am thinking of you and Cocoa and Kath. Sending healing vibes to Cocoa by the bucket load! Have a hug cos you need one :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:have several in fact. Half of those are for Kath too!

Ahhh thanks everyone it means such a lot to have your support. I’ll try the vitamin c it sure can’t help to try it.
She’s just taken her metacam really well & she’s back with the herd for now. Heidi’s pleased to see her. x

Awwww...I hope Cocoa would be better soon or atleast you'd find out what's really wrong. Things that you don't know why are really frustrating. It happened in the past with our 2 guinea pigs and I really wished that time that the piggies can talk human so I can understand how to fix them. Big hugs for you and Cocoa @David Pet Lover and @Hoppity.K .

I do squeek & wheek & try telling my hoomans what’s wrong but they are only fluent in spoken language not wheeking & squeeking language. I’m never ever cross with them either.
I’ll keep you posted on my progress & I'm very happy to have lots cuddles & metacam cos it’s quite yummy. Lots love to you all I'm off for a snooze now
