hoping mimi will be alright and that she comes home to you and pansy. it must make such a difference to have a piggy savy vet. with our vet we can't leave in overnight (like we did with poor petal) as leaving overnight here at a south oz vet means being in a cage all alone with no one there to watch them. :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
really wish our vets were like yours! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: i am really happy for you to finding this vet and that mimi hasn't got stones! hoping she comes home real soon! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

thanks choloe, yeah it's a big releif to get this vet, i wasn't too impressed with the first one, so glad we got a different one, felt much better about leaving her with her. O0 awww i really miss my baby, it's just not the same without one of my babies :'( oh well i hope she can come home to mummy and pansy today, haven't heard from the vet yet, but should do this morning O0
poor old pansy's missing her, she seems a bit flat, but she's having lots of cuddles and pampering! ::) :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
will let you know when i pick her up O0

vet just phoned. she's looking a bit perky, but still hasn't weed so they want to keep her in till she does. and the nurses are gonna give her some science recovery cos she's not eating much. my poor little mimi :'( :smitten: :smitten:

hoping little mimi relieves herself soon, just ask them to have a tap dripping that always works for me, or tickle her nose and make her sneeze-that one especially works on me!. sending hugs and cuddles to you, pansy and little mimi. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: glad your vet and the nirses are taking great care of mimi. :smitten: :smitten:

We picked her up at about 5.45, she hadn't weed still! and she was having critical care every 2 hours, so they gave us the rest of the packet to give her. she had had a baytril injection and metacam injection, so all the pain releif and anti-biotics were up to date.
she wheeked as soon as she heard me bless her :-* so she's had a bit of critical care off a spoon here and has settled in, but she can't be with pansy yet, so we can see how she's pooing and weeing, and she's only eating the critical care, nothing else. i'm just glad to have her home, and have had a nice cuddle with my baby. i sat egging her on to have a wee and she did finally! :o it's very concentrated and yellow and smelly xx0 she squealed still too, but at least she has! she's doing tiny, tiny poos and her tummy's gone down, it's so small! :o :D so fingers crossed she's going the right way O0 bless her, she still looks so poorly :'( ah well!
we're seeing the vet again for a checkup tomorrow O0

i am so glad mimi is home and that she is doing all the right things for you! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: really hoping she continues to improve! sending hugs and cuddles to you and mimi. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: perhaps you could put mimi and pansy's cages side by side so they can see and smell each other. may just help mimi to see her friend. good luck! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

thanks :) the naughty little girl's stopped eating the CC off a spoon or out of the bowl ::) so i'm syringing it O0 i'm worried cos she's not drinking, so i'm going to syringe some water too. she does seem quite perky, like they said she was yesterday, but she's worn herself out trying to get away from the syringe ::) she's still looking a bit flat and poorly, bless her :'(

saw the vet O0 he said she's not doing as well as he'd like :'( he gave us some more CC and told us to keep doing that, he said to keep syringing water if she's not drinking. he said to try to get her to have some veggies. he gave her a baytril injection and we're giving her it orally again as of tomorrow. he said if we're really worried over the weekend to go in but if not see him on monday unless theres real significant improvement. so i tried her with her favourite foods, cauliflower leaves, celery and she wouldn't have any she had a tiny bit of red pepper and a tiny bit of grass but not much :-\ i'm concerned that she's in pain cos she's all hunched up and fluffed and she was grinding her teeth :-\ if i'm still concerned tomorrow i'll phone the vets O0 she's still pretty lathargic.

had some hay now O0 she won't have her veggies though :( her tummy/abdomen is so big again :o she really needs to poo and wee, come on little one! xx0

awww come on Mimi poo and pee for your Mummy

Hugs for you Izzy hope she improves soon

How much Critical Care and water are you getting into her? They need 6g of Critical Care per 100g of body weight in 24 hours. It seems a lot but it's what they need to keep their system moving. Unfortunately the Baytril won't help with this as it can cause tummy troubles - I would see if you can get Septrin next time you're at the vet. It really isn't the best antibiotic at all for bladder problems.

Teeth grinding and fluffing up is a sure sign of pain so I would also try and get in touch with the vet for more painkillers.

Aw poor mimi, is it possible she's just full from CC and thats why she's not too interested in veg? i'd ask for septrin too, do you have any metacam left? we were told to give Ralfie on tiny drop with a bit of water via syringe, really hope she starts to feel better soon, have you tried her with a bit of grass? x

really hoping mimi gets better soon, i agree that the poor little thing sounds like she is pain so if you have any metacam left give her a little bit of that. just wondering if a little massage on her tummy would help her? hoping she goes to the loo soon for you. sending hugs and cuddles to you and mimi. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

the nurse said to give her 5mls of cc every 2 hrs. :-\ no, they gave her metacam injections :( yeah she had a tiny bit of grass and a bit of hay so thats a start, i think it may be best to stick off the veggies actually because she's just done a loose poo on me ::) :P she moaned when she did it too :-\ her tummy/abdomen looks a bit swollen, bless her :-\ she hadn't done a poo since yesterday, so at least she has now. she has weed though, i think we're giving her soo much water, she just has to let it out! i haven't seen her grind her teeth today :) shall i give her some probiotic? i just think she's having so much else, it might be wise to wait until she is off some of that O0

last time i checked (yesterday) 850g she was 900 before all this, she has had some hay and yesterday had some grass, and this morning she had a tiny tiny bit of cucumber

so glad that mimi has done both . i can really sympathise with the soft poops. erhaps like zoe just feed her hay and grass until her tummy settles from all those drugs. you could always add vitamin C to her water that you are syringing her. really hoping little mimi gets better for you soon. sending hugs and cuddles to you and mimi girl. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

thanks choloe :smitten: i know you've had this with poor little zoe on her drugs O0 i have given her some probiotic in the water because the vet said to do so. i'm worried about her, now with these poops aswell :( i managed to give her more CC this time, and will do. yeah i think i might stick to hay and grass, i know she'll eat that too O0 she won't eat veggies though. yeah i'd better add some vit c too! ::) bless her, she's having so much pumped into her! ::)

Izzy, i'd take her back to the vets. is she still on baytril? it could be this thats upsettting her. when Ralfie had runny poo's we were told to give him no veg for a few days, just lots of grass and he got an injection to kick start his gut, and we had to give him science recovery (apparently its higher in fibre than CC but not sure) ironically baytril is the best antibiotic for bacterial infections in the gut according to our vet :-\ i think i'd try to get her some septrin and encourage her to eat hays and grass, hope she gets better soon, at least she's weeing properly x

yeah i've been thinking that myself :-\ she doing lots of smelly runny poos :'( don't think her weeing is normal yet, but getting there O0

a bit, i don't think quite as much, but we're pumping so much water into her i think it's diluted the wee O0

omg! :'( :'( just got her out for CC and she has blood round her bits! :'( :'( :'( got to get her to a vets asap :'(
i'm having a panick attack oh god! :'(

the vet has already done an xray and found nothing O0 well they're keeping her in again. she was dehydrated despite me syringing fluids and in pain, i knew it! :( she's going to give her fluids and anti-inflamatries and anti-biotics and pain killers, food etc. so we'll see how she goes. she's going to phone in the morning O0

Oh Izzy I was hoping she would be on the mend by now. Fingers crossed, for her! :smitten:

ahhh Izzy I was hoping to read some good news, we all have fingers crossed for you little girl here O0 O0
