Awe brilliant photos @Tim

Gutted once again to make plans and they have to change because of work.
I am glad you all had a brilliant day.

Once again it's nice to see faces to names :)

@Wiebke again I am totally upset I missed those cakes...... :(

It's horrible when work gets in the way of play time! :(
Hopefully next time Stefanie :)

Excellent photos- really capture the fun of the day

Birmingham meet is great for me - but the Xmas market runs from the 13th November to 22nd December and is a no go area for those who hate crowds

Does anyone live in a big house and fancy having a Xmas party??:yikes:

I like the idea of going to @Mother Hubbard 's and raiding her gin stash! :))

Other than that the only way I think to clear the busy Xmas pub crowd is to send in Sport billy in the gold shorts and BossHogg in the mankini both holding a big sprig
of mistletoe over their heads- pub should clear in seconds and we get a empty venue room all to ourselves :yahoo:

Oh god... that...

with 'of mistletoe' going down onto the second line... I almost didn't read that I was like.. a big what now?!?! is that what they call it nowadays!

Mmmmm - thinking about it it may be better they attached it in that strategic place to cover the possibility of dangleberrys - though I believe mistletoe fruit is small and white!

:)):)):)) haahahaha
I think that's a wise idea! Don't think anyone would be wanting to have a kiss UNDER that mistletoe though!:eek:

Oi! Firstly, no one will be able to find the house and secondly, I drank all the gin remember, the whole litre, so I would definitely require reinforcements. Although the drinks cabinet does have rather a lot of fine whiskey at the moment. Hehehe

VickiA also suggested we could meet at Kidsgove at The Potteries function that they have towards the end of the year.

Good point @Lady Kelly , Helen normally has a fund raising type event in kidsgrove in November and this is always some kind of function room or town hall . :)

I've checked the date for Kidsgrove Xmas Market - 14th Nov. . It's a great event to go to but it's held in Kidsgrove Town Hall so isn't really conducive to a GPF meet up really.

Yeah I was kinda hoping you'd come so I could meet you. We are linked by Dylan and Sherman for life Lol xx
Was needed for my volunteering at the centre, but will rearrange things to make it to the next one. Yep, Dylan and Sherman will always connect us!

The Potteries Fair in November is a great event to support but probably not an ideal meet up venue unless Helen can let us have one of the siderooms to use and usually the reptile rescues are in there away from all the small furries....

Birmingham is going to be a nightmare at Christmas and we'd have to book somewhere now if we wanted to do that. My suggestion would be to have a Christmas party in Brum but have it in January to cheer us all up in the dark night. Fair chance of @lisaali getting snowed out/in though :)

I think the hassle with Birmingham New Street last Nov/Dec whilst the German market was on was made worse by the fact that nearby roads were being dug up for tram tracks and New St is currently half the size it will be. The new version is due for completion I think by September this year.

I will say even i stopped going to Birmingham whilst the market was on as I hate the crowds and the fact it was so over crowded on the trains.
I think they are planning more carriages and more trains this year.

The way round it to me is to basically avoid the German market dates which ruled out mid November to Christmas I know.
It could be we meet one of the first 2 Saturday's in November or in January?
I do think a Christmas meet would be wonderful but I do think the crowds/transport might cause issues.

However if one is arranged I'll do my best to get there. I do usually help with a lot of fundraising stalls in December but if the dates set in advance I'll keep it clear.

Think Tim said the Welly pub is £10 an hour for the upstairs room. I'm happy to contribute to that but only concern is its upstairs with no lift if anyone who can't manage stairs wanted to go.

I'm sure we can sort something out between us all or takeover an area of the Wetherspoons again!

Love Rachel's idea of a post-Christmas party too! January should be easier for people needing to book tickets in advance too.

I am more than happy to chip in on room hire as well if we wanted to look at the Welly but as Alison says I don't want people to be ruled out by lack of access

Yes I think its a difficult one balancing somewhere suitable with good access by train and car! Chapeltown sounds interesting and while that's fine with me (I'm north of Birmingham anyway but will take me twice as long and cost twice as much to get there) I wonder whether its feasible for the people living more south that usually come into Birmingham. Maybe some people further south can give their thoughts.

For Birmingham, I know a few people who tend to drive to Coleshill and get the train in from there to save driving into the centre of Birmingham which could be an option for drivers.

VickiA also suggested we could meet at Kidsgove at The Potteries function that they have towards the end of the year.

This is a good idea, as I missed out not being there, and if you do decide to meet at Kidsgrove you all get the chance to meet and cuddle the caravaning cavies (as we are becoming a fixture). Be warned though that Star has become adept at poop smearing and you must check for clenched front paws.

I'm really sorry that I missed you all. I was really looking forward to it. I had my surgery this morning and everything went much better than I expected and they think everything looks benign actually, and now I feel like I should have come to meet you all. I just wasn't really functioning that well over the weekend, mostly from being so anxious about today. It looks like you all had a really good time, and its lovely to see so many piggy people in once place!

Glad it all went well this morning - good news :) x x

@Goth Mummy
We missed you too! I'm glad your surgery was successful and wishing you a speedy recovery. There is a meet up in London in July if you fancy going? I have booked my tickets, I'm guessing it's only a 10-20 minute walk from Euston. :) xx
