Well folks, it's not looking good for us as the train tickets are ridiculous at the moment. We will keep checking them regularly but at the moment the cheapest we can get would be around £150 for the two of us return. Is there something on that weekend that has hiked up the tickets? :no:

That's madness!
There's an engineering show at the end of April at the nec, can't see much else. Apart from a certain meeting in a pub, perhaps they found out and hiked the prices for this reason? :cen: :no:
Joking aside, I really do hope you can make it, after the last unfortunate episode you had! Best of luck.

Omg that's ridiculous wonder if it because it's weekend. It's silly is the coach cheaper?.or would it take too long ?.I hope something can be sorted. I don't know if it's true but if you buy tickets to places seperatly along your route it can b cheaper . You don't even have to get off the train . It was something on the tv wish I could remember everything about it . x I hope it's some help good luck xx

Check out Mytrainticket.com or .co.UK it gives you tips how to get the cheapest tickets including tickets for stops on your line . Might b worth a go x
 
Wow, that's expensive @lisaali have you tried the ticket splitting websites to see if a fictitious split en route would make it cheaper. One of my colleagues does it regularly to bring the price down. Alternatively, booking trains via Flint knock pounds off (train booking to Flint and then booking from Flint to Birmingham) may save a few pounds? Just a suggestion as it would be great to meet you.
@salembinx don't worry at all - I came on my own for the first time last year as did many others. What I met was a group of like minded people Who love their piggies and had plenty more in common besides. We had a really good laugh, especially after scaring off the randoms and taking over the whole corner of the pub and confusing the kitchen by ordering about 20 lunches to one small coffee table and then all swapping seats constantly. I'm really looking forward to this years one and to seeing some familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones too. See you there!
 
8 weeks.... 8 weeks is all we have untill the meet. 6 weeks of me being calm and relaxed about the whole thing.. And then 2 weeks of me repeating what a bad idea me going is.

When I'm horizontal I don't usually have my specs on and easily mistake certain words. Such as 'burn' and 'bum' can get confusing. :whistle:
As for my age, I'm young at heart... sort of! :))

You have to go just for @Wiebke cakes, they are seriously scrummy. You just know that if you don't know you will be kicking yourself when you see the pics of everyone laughing, drinking, and generally have a super time...

Its true, I would be gutted if I saw all the pictures of how fun it was knowing I could have been there!
Hopefully! Hopefully my nervous will stay away so I can get there, if I can get half way there, then there's no turning back!

I was going to meet Stephanie, glorious guinea pig, but the train that I booked doesn't go through her station anymore so I'm gunna meet her first when I get there hopefully! It will help if I meet one person before I meet everyone if that makes sense?
I don't think or know of anyone getting on at any of the stops my trains stops at :(

Would that be @GloriousGuineaGirl ? We have met before, at an open day held at teas. One of the many people who wondered up to me saying "you must be Tim". It must be the face, do I have a 'Tim' face ? :))

Hahaha I guess you do look like a Tim actually yeah! Some people just look like there names though don't they!?
I don't think I look like a Cat however though.
