Sadly Tim I have some things going on here which means I won't be able to make it. Perhaps the next one. I too would have liked to have met everyone! We'll have to continue the banter online for now! :P
 
That is a shame, maybe organise another in the summer (if we have a summer!)
 
I'm from Wigan, just around the corner! I love winter too, but I can be barefoot in summer :)

I know Wigan, I have been to the three sisters race circuit there a few times.
There's plenty of nice spots to meet up in brum that's perfect on a warm day :)
 
As a newish member can I ask what happens at the meets?

Also on a tangent... is it not Dingleberries?!?

There are quite a few of us for who it'll be the 1st time - so we're all filled with anticipation !

I remember seeing some pictures of last year's meet - everyone was having a good time.


I'm looking forward to having some of Wiebke's cake
 
why fear and anxiety? So its just a social meeting? is it a fund raising thing? I'm not sure what to expect.

Hiya this is an informal social event which we hold in a pub several times a year all over the country. It gives members the opportunity to meet in the flesh and chat about all things piggy related or not! It is great fun and everyone is made to feel welcome. @Wiebke will hopefully be baking some cakes and bringing them along to sell for TEAS. Unfortunately we haven't had the chance to sample them yet but hope to be at the meet in time to buy some before they sell out!

It would be great to see you there on the day. Also a few of us bring their partners along too. A great day is had by one and all but I think you can tell that by the banter on this thread.

It's one great social meet up, it was my first time last year I met people on this forum. I too was a bit nervous as I went by myself. I must admit though I was probably still a bit tiddled, I had a night out in brum the night before. :oops:
@sport_billy is awesome! Had a great chat, he doesn't like his peas though ;)
Seriously though, great time was had by all. Hopefully the trains will behave for @lisaali :)

I too am a wimp, I could have easily backed out. So glad I didn't, I met so many wonderful people on here. I've since been asked if I'm going to the next one, in a good way I hope! :))
 
It is just an informal social meeting in a city centre pub to chat about piggies and other things and meet some other forum members, old and new. I did bring some muffins as provision for the trip home to be sold in support of TEAS sanctuary, which have gone down well. I understand that many didn't see home or exist for much longer than their arrival! ;)

Nothing to fear and no need to show off. We are a bunch of very normal people that share the love of guinea pigs. Be prepared to admire a fair number of piggy pics, though! :)
