I never thought I had an accent until I moved away! They tell me I talk quite posh... I'm from Nottingham... I highly doubt that!

I must admit - I'm wondering how I'm going to cope with hearing in such a large meet . - I'm deaf in one ear and really struggle to hear when there's more than one conversation going on.

We something else in common other than our piggies then
I can truly sympathise,
I too am stone deaf in one ear (born like this) and have hearing loss in my other. Struggled when I was little to balance properly. Late walking, about 10 when I could ride a bike. As for swimming, no coordination at all!
I've had a lot of help from the nhs and private hearing groups who have been great. I have three aids and various boxes of tricks and microphones I hand out to people in meetings. When I'm down the pub though I tend not to bother, just turn up the volume and hear everything going on outside and on the kitchen!

I tend to talk tooooo much in groups of people. Sorry in advance, I speak a lot to large groups of people in my job and the training kicks in . I give you all permission to tell me to shut up
