It's a long old road to recovery. Your body's been through a major trauma you just have to give it time. As I said at the beginning of this thread, my old neighbour had her whole spine fused and took a year to recover. I know it's difficult but you really do have to be patient. Sending you get well vibes and virtual hugs.Itās all very up and down still. I have a few good days and then a few bad days. I am getting a bit fed up now.
I know, I know. Iām just really bad at taking things easy. Thank you for the healing vibes and hugs. It's a long old road to recovery. So am I!I know, I know. Iām just really bad at taking things easy. Thank you for the healing vibes and hugs.
Thank youI don't know a woman who is good at taking it easy. Sitting looking at things that need to be done (properly!) is so hard. As I've found from bitter experience if you do too much too soon it takes longer to heal.
This post has been written in a way you can all read between the lines.
Thank youI hope your appointment with the consultant goes well on Thursday.

I sit there thinking I should be doing so much other stuff.I find relaxing and taking it easy so stressful!

Hi there, I had a discectomy last year when I was 42. I couldn't walk without crutches as I couldn't weight bear on my left leg due to nerve compression. So for me surgery was the only hope. I am now 8 months post surgery and doing well. It has been an incredibly slow healing process and the rehab success is based on how dedicated you are to the exercises. I joined the Back in Shape program which also has loads of free content on YouTube. I don't think I'd be doing so well without it. So I can now walk for 10-15 minutes and am so much stronger. I get a stiff achey back first thing but generally am pain free. I was on 300/500 cocodamol x4 a day, gabapentin and occasionally Naproxen. Was drugged up to the eyeballs! I'm working towards losing weight and wanting to start running again. And a big bonus is I can do more for the guinea pigs! ā¤Hello everyone. Just wanted to ask peopleās advice on back fusion surgery. Iāve been told this week that my chronic back pain wonāt go on itās own so I need to either have surgery or just live with it! Oh my goodness I really donāt know what to do! Itās not easy surgery and the recovery is long but Iām not 50 yet so if it will help me in the long run maybe I should have it while still fit. Iām a bit of a control freak (OCD) and quite anxious so Iām a bit of a worrier. Any thoughts advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
