Well, I have done it! The brownies were rather a killer to figure out without help as were the black pieces with too many very similar shapes.
Case solved, too. I picked the right murderer.

I didn't realise when I got this it was an XL piece jigsaw. This is 500 piece that is just a little larger than a 1,000 piece. I'm not sure I like the larger pieces for reasons I can't really explain.

I've got one that's larger pieces. I quite liked it as with the arthritis in my right hand fingers it was easier to handle the pieces.
Larger pieces have advantages. With my bad eyes I can really struggle with small pieces. Those brownies were like trying to build a brown patch of leaves with no idea of how the brownies were stacked at first.

I like this one too much. I'm going to leave it together because I might still find the AWOL piece.
Edit - found it! Was on my hands and knees to run my hands across the carpet because it's dark carpet and a black piece. Shrugged, went for a doughnut, walked upstairs and saw the piece from the hall, right where I'd just checked. Oh well. It's done!

It's the first one in a long time that I've not been able to do the edges first, too many dark pieces. Candles, then window, then curtain and books, then raven, then kitty. It felt very wrong, lol.

I have done dark ones on line and the very dark ones take time. I found when i finished a time consuming puzzle I felt really good I did it. Funny I always do the eyes first.
I wanted to do a 500 piece puzzle as I’m recovering from back fusion surgery and can’t sit for too long. My dad has lots of puzzles but not a 500 piece

My husband can borrow puzzles from his bowls club. So I asked for him to get me a 500 piece puzzle with not much greenery.
He picked me a 1000 piece puzzel with ….. yep you guessed it. Greenery.

He obviously wants you to achieve you the higher level certificate in Applied Jigsaw Greenery to display proudly on a wall.

I have a couple of puzzles I pull out, look at, then replace for something without foliage. And none of them come close to this!

This is the puzzle I'm doing atm.
Its difficult and challenging and I've got this far in just over a fortnight.

I love the picture, not actually doing the puzzle as it is so hard. I can't do it for too long as leaning over the puzzle pulls on my bad back. Only half hour stints now and then.

Just finished it! I have a huge amount of satisfaction at completing this difficult and challenging puzzle.
Well done!
It looks relatively simple but that means lots of very similar shades and pieces in several areas of the picture.

Well that's what I thought. Close up the different shades look all the same and several pieces fitted into the same space on the puzzle. The picture on the box was zero help.
