Dear Blossom, Buttercup, No No and Nay Nay

It has come to my attention that you are being starved! It is certainly what that picture of you looks like. This just will not do! You are clearly in need of some help training your Slave. Have no fear the GPU is here to guide you through this tricky process.

Slaves are fairly thick creatures so need to be taught how to behave around you and bring food whenever they approach your cage, walk past your cage, come and talk to you, open the door to your room .....

I'm sure Bann and Cam won't mind if I use their excellent example (@Lorcan) as they have trained their Slave to perfection. They just wheak at the top of their lungs on every single occasion when their Slave passes by their room, is downstairs or just anywhere in the house. Their Slave is so concerned that the neighbours may think there is a murder happening that he just gives them food to shut them up. This only works for a short time though, as I said earlier, Slaves are fairly thick creatures.

When your Slave announces that it's Cuddletime, ensure that you are difficult to pick up by dodging your Slave. Just when she thinks she has hold of you, run off as quickly as possible and only when you're bored of this game of "catch me if you can" can allow her to pick you up. When you've settled nicely on her lap, shoulder, chest or wherever she likes to have you for Cuddletime, make sure you poop loads and wee on her as Slaves like that as they think you are really comfortable in their presence. You may even be rewarded with some food for this behaviour. Again, Slaves are fairly thick creatures.

Hope this advices helps you to begin your Slave training.

Yours always in need of food.

Tonight I put some veggies in the bowl. No No jumped in, and looked around as if she couldn’t find the food. Princess Buttercup walked up, grabbed some lettuce, and started chewing. No No leaned forward, took the lettuce, and ate it herself. Buttercup seemed unfazed, and just got more. It was quite funny, and very cute.

Their antics are just too much when the playpen is set up the right way. From running through the tunnels one after another, to running, coming to a halt, and popcorning a few times before changing directions. Of course I can’t forget the train as they follow each other. If it’s set up two panels wide, they seem more inclined to just run back and forth with little popcorning.

As a reminder, the original gp owner has problems with communication due to being born deaf. I am very frustrated by her sudden, “yeah, I told you, right?” I get it often.
Fart Blossom, the hairy one, has a throat abscess on her throat that needs drained again. I didn’t know it was a problem she’s had. Granted it’s not a big problem, but one I should have been intentionally told about.

I made the appointment for Blossom to have her neck drained. They don’t have her records. :mal: She’s there now, waiting for her turn at surgery. At almost four, there’s a risk putting her under, but she’s healthy otherwise, so I’m not too concerned.

Good luck Blossom.
I am sure she will feel much better once it has been drained.

I think it was yesterday, maybe the day before, that No No discovered her “sound the alarm! I want something!” wheek. I mean, she’s LOUD! As the youngest, and smallest, I’ve tried to keep an eye on her. Well, sometime in the last few days she also had a growth spurt. She looks like she’s as big as Nay Nay. She also just shoved Nay Nay away from the pellets. The girl is a teenager now, and she’s sassy!

@weepweeps I see you are on, so I’m picking you for a quick answer.
It’s quite warm here today, but there’s a 19kph wind. Is it good to allow the girls outside time (seriously, it’s warmer outside than in) or not?

Sorry. Just seen this. If you could be outside and feel warm then they will be ok too. Give them a hidey so if they want shelter they can go in.

Poor F Blossom. Pooooor, poooor girl. She had to keep me company while I drank my coffee, and the others ate carrots. She was so heartbroken as she enjoyed peppers without anyone trying to take them. She was purring, but I know inside she was miserable. 🤣

She had surgery a month ago. I weighed her afterwards (I know, I should have known her weight before). It’s not much to go on, but it is something. I have not marked her weight since because she has been gaining, so I figured I’d mark it down when she was all better. I regret that.
She has multiple lumps throughout her body now. She even had an issue with a painful hind leg and walking. She was brought in about two weeks ago, but it was supposedly arthritis. 😕 This morning I saw her with everyone at the hay, but I didn’t pay attention if she was eating, and she accepted a pepper. I don’t know if she ate it. Two hours later she would not accept a pepper, and turned away. Now we can get her to accept cucumber, but not eat it. At least she accepts it, so we are hopeful.
She has some energy, and will purr. She finally did one poo a few minutes ago. Her weight is 1 1/2 ounces lower than post surgery. Other than juice from oranges, she is being given water. No pee, but she is not getting enough to drink. I am working on getting the other human, who’s holding her, to give her something to drink every half hour or so. Somehow she is unclear on why Blossom needs to drink more.
Anyway, a few positives, but
I don’t see this ending well.

I’m so sorry. Blossom had a wonderful life with you. You tried to make her better and when there was nothing more you could do you made the kindest decision to help her over the bridge. Popcorn high over the bridge gorgeous. Take care ❤️

So sorry for your loss. Losing a piggy is so totally and utterly heart breaking. She had a life full of love with you. She will take all that love with her to the Rainbow Bridge.

The three guinea pigs got weighed this morning. I see a drop with Princess Buttercup, but I probably weighed her after a big meal last time. I’ll be sure to always do it in the morning now.
Nay Nay was happily sitting on my shoulder last night. I couldn’t believe she was so content. Then I discovered that I was getting a haircut. 💇‍♀️:P

Blossom has been gone less than a week. The three others got to smell her, and know she was gone. Her bonded friend of almost four years, Princess Buttercup, doesn’t seem phased. When F. Blossom was at the vet last month, everyone, especially P. Buttercup was so happy to see her after less than a day. Buttercup snuggled with her as opposed to just laying nearby. I guess knowing she’s passed away helped them all move on.
I’m basically just saying that the animals are all okay, and us humans are … dealing. I cut vegetables for her yesterday, and automatically looked for her this morning.
