Adventures in the U.S.

The photo is humorous (and hopefully not associated with a restaurant!), but the breeder was at the shoppe. She said they are mixed m/f. 😳 I am on pregnancy watch. They are supposed to be 6 mos., so I’m wondering what she was thinking putting them together despite two cages.
I’m naming them No No and Nay Nay, nicknames for the people that own(ed) the other two. They aren’t going to be all together. Quarantine now, but one of the others is known to be too dominant.

😆 I’m visiting my friend whom the older gp came from. They are in the room with her. She is deaf. I’m still taking care of those gp too, but she occasionally gives them vegetables/hay/etc. Apparently we overdid it on the vegetables, so they are off them for a few days. My piggies are sleeping, and I hear wheeking from the other room. I swore I’d fed and watered them, but was afraid the noise would wake her LO, or my gp. 14D92144-9BF4-4370-94BB-77876636A89B.jpeg

It just struck me as funny because it’s similar to the conversation between parents when the children wake in the night. Mom wakes Dad to tell him to tend the child.
Apparently they were just mad about the vegetables.

I think my two gp are absolutely adorable. I read a lot about gp, and watched a million videos, but I have two questions at the moment I don’t know/remember the answers to.
Will they always be adorable (love is more than looks, I’m just wondering)?
Their coats are rough. Is it because they are currently short, or is it their breed(s)?

The only good bit of pepper is the bit someone else is trying to eat lol.

Also, how do you mean rough? Texture wise or something else?

Piggies only get more adorable with age, in my experience.
Maybe this is because their space in your heart becomes so well established.
I had a teddy, Jemimah, whose coat was fuzzy was fuzzy all her life..

Your pair are so

Up since two in the morning, the little human convinced me to put the non-jealous, non-carrot allergy pig in a play pen with the two little pigs. It went great. She taught them to burrow under the pee pad, and get poo on the rug and floor. They were happy to get carrots, and were calmer with the older, tamed pig not being anxious. She is not outgoing, but certainly a good companion today. The other gp had time with the other adult human. 9CE70A45-295E-428F-89F5-DC8A6BBCE1AD.webp

🤣 I put up a big hammock for the babies yesterday. This morning I witnessed No No (all white) jumping up from behind the hammock, and down onto Nay Nay over and over. Nay Nay tried the same thing, but rarely landed on No No.
No is also getting more and more comfortable with me. She still isn’t eating from my hand, but when I was putting hay in, she was hanging out the door, and stayed there. I tried feeding her a piece, but she just sniffed it a few places, and stuck up her nose. 😝 Nay is okay with being held and eating the food I offer, but not letting me pet her in the cage yet.

Make sure you're not using a hand cream or scented soap before offering the goody. Nono might be rejecting the offering because she doesn't like the smell ... either that or she's holding out for something better.

… and then it seemed time. I sat in the play area, and the pigs were added. I wasn’t surprised that there was no fighting, and all of us had fun.

That is great that it went so well.
Do all 4 pigs live together full time (share one cage)?
I was under the impression that they were separate pairs?
If so they should not spend time together in one area and then be separated again.

Could you keep them all together now that they have bonded? They are all girlies aren’t they 😊

Could I? Technically. Will I? No. Being together went well, and it served its three purposes. I have no intention of uniting them again until someone passes away. At that time it will be necessary and permanent.

<sigh> I am now bonding all four in one cage. Regardless of the why, it’s happening. The only problem is that one of the other two humans won’t back off. I assure you it’s going well. I’m used to animals (domestic and farm) setting dominance. The humans are brand new to it. I’m ready to gag and tie up the other adult human. She’s yelling about death matches and knowing more than me. Uh, no. I stopped asking her questions because she thinks things that would make anyone reading this see red. Her daughter, whom trusts me, is in bed.
All is quiet. They are about twenty feet away from me. It’s been about two hours, and my babies are still intact. Wondering what is up with the two elders chasing each other though.
