If it makes you feel any better, we saw a flash earlier but didn’t know if it was lightning. It was pretty bright! Then it rained but not too much.

Mira of the story - don’t wear (out) your shoes so much they give you foot problems. Or continue wearing them when you notice a (smallish) split in the sole. I have had two pairs of shoes for the past two years - ankle boots for work and a trainers. I’ve been wearing them pretty much daily. Parts of the sole on the trainers are peeling away…and yet I continue to wear them.

I had to buy new smart shoes the other week because I had bad foot pain. I think it’s plantar fasciitis. I’ve got new shoes but I’m still suffering (albeit somewhat less). My issue now is figuring out what to do when at home. I can’t spend the day in shoes! When I rest my foot on the floor, it starts hurting.

Don’t be like me, but new shoes when you need them.

PS I did this when younger as well…I’d wear shoes until they were really worn before buying new ones 🙄

I was given a pair of Vans, the older chunkier style ones, and I wore no other shoes for about, uh, 3 years. Finding something else as comfortable as those that I could wear every day never really happened, I had to move back to wearing boots instead. I miss those Vans, lol.

I remember those days! Fun .... Fun ..... Fun.....!
This one was done right (originally planned as a picnic in the park and moved indoors last minute due to weather). Adults presented with alcohol... Shame I'm pregnant 🤣🤣🤣

..... And a good time was had by all!

Don't worry you can drink again soon!

My Dad insisted on me having a glass of wine once I'd had Son No 1. He (baby) was only about 2 weeks old and I was feeding him. Son slept very well for the next couple of days!

Interesting you say you can tolerate whole milk @Lorcan i think eldest girl is lactose intolerant (yet she LOVES milk!). I wonder whether she would tolerate it better… we are on semi, have been for a long while. I now find whole milk too rich. And it can give the husband tummy ache.

I don't have a lot of milk these days, growing up all we got was semi skim/green top and a) it's foul and b) it hated me as much as I hated it lol, I'm out of practice with it so to speak. But milkshakes, cooking, whatever, if I need milk I go with whole. My mother likes to snark that maybe I'm not lactose intolerant at all and maybe I shouldn't tell people I am, and I get to remind her that she's the one who insisted the hospital test me for lactose intolerance when I was on the psych ward because she was convinced I was making it up and looking for attention over it. You'd think after 18 years she'd stop trying to dig that hole but clearly not.

It might be worth trying her with a pint jug of it and seeing how it goes? I've been medically tested for it and I can only assume there's a protective factor in the fat, but who knows.
I love milk and drink a lot of it. I grew up on 1% or 2% (semi-skimmed), but changed to whole whenever I was the only one drinking it anymore. I much prefer whole; ideally it should also be from a local brand and come in a glass bottle ...
They insisted upon testing me for lactose intolerance ... I rolled my eyes about it but played along and did their breath test. Got my results back that apparently I am lactose intolerant along with a piece of paper with recommendation (which I don't recall what I did with) ... it suggested that tolerance could be built up by slowly increasing milk consumption. My snarky side said, "And how should I work on increasing from half a gallon a day?"

Yeah I don't avoid it. I go for days having very, very little of it but lactose can turn up in anything, it's one of the inactive ingredients in a number of different meds that I take. But I know people who treat it as an allergy and it's extremely unhelpful, because if I can have a milkshake, isn't that dangerous? No. So then I'm not actually lactose intolerant, right?

For some people there's no explaining it. I remember when Frijj milkshakes changed the recipe and used pretty much entirely skim, and I had to stop buying them. And now the recipe uses more whole milk again and now I can have one as a treat again.

I have suffered with plantar fascitis in both feet, I really feel your pain! In had physio, ultra sound and taping at its worst, as a short term relief try freezing a small watt bottle and then when say down roll it with your foot, the rolling stretches the muscles and the cold helps. I also have ortho inserts that I swap around my shoes to support my arches.

Sorry to hear you’ve had it. At its worst it was pretty painful (and I have a fairly high pain threshold). If it’s not better I’ll try and get an appointment with the doc in the summer holidays.

I would go straight to a Podiatrist ( my ex husband was one ) they know all about plantar fasciitis- it is so painful

My son had Severs Disease which is when the growth plate at the back of the heel becomes inflamed and painful in growing children. It got him out of PE as it sounds awful!

Is there an easy way to compare new phones with my old one? I have a samsung galaxy which I've been using since Dec 16, so I'm definitely due one but want one similar as have had no problems with this. I always buy outright and put my sim in so it seems to narrow the choice a little - pity the poor person who asks me if I would like help tomorrow when I go into the shop!

When I was in hospital they had me go for a quick walk, just to get me up and about because of clot risks and the like, and as we're walking she asks me if my feet have always been that flat. Now I was wearing the embolism socks but also those slipper socks you get in a hospital that were at least 2 sizes too big and she still saw it. I count myself lucky though, it didn't cause me an issue til I broke a foot bone and realised in order for it to heal I was gonna have to relearn how to walk, lol.

90% of the time now I wear boots with a set of orthopaedic insoles. Especially if I'm out and about. I didn't have them with me at the hospital because they're steel toes and actually I still can't tie my laces with ease, so. No boots, lol.

When I plugged my printer into my laptop when my laptop was new, it connected and printed straight away. Now my laptop has had a new hardrive and I found I need to print something for appointment tomorrow, will it plug in and work... NO 😣

Is it connected by cable or via your WiFi network? Try going to settings and see if you can install a printer. Hopefully it shows up.

Could someone apologise to the goblins for me but I'll be late to bed tonight because I forgot to charge my phone and it needs done before I go to sleep.

This means pellets will be late.

And I'm too afraid to deal with the outrage :bal:

Can you compare them on Samsungs website? Possibly not as yours is quite old...

I have an A23, and we bought my son a second hand S20FE5G. I've been happy with both, but then I'm not picky :D

We all understand that ……hopefully we’ll hear from you tomorrow 😂
@Lorcan? LORCAN? LORCAN? LORCAN? ARE YOU THERE LORCAN?

Cable. Printer is probably classed as old now as everyone seems to upgrade all the time and I keep stuff til they break! I tried installing it via the disk but apparently the operating systems are not compatible or something. I might try another day when I'm not wound up with it.

Hmm I could try this. I've been looking at the A14 and it looks ok to me but not seen it in person yet. It will be an upgrade on mine. I'm in in the process of making sure I have a copy of everything I need on mine and its a bit sad really. My phone has been all over with me!

Brought the boys a new willow tunnel (to take turns with) instead of paying for delivery with todays hay order.
Yes, I should have measured it, but it said large!
Even willow tunnels are shrinking. Feeling a little annoyed, with myself for not measuring.
Good job it will only be one pig at a time.
