What made you happy today?

The first thing I was able (determined) to do was clean out the piggies. That was the most pressing concern for me as my husband has asthma and was struggling from the off with cleaning them out. It all worked out fine in the end.

Hub has an arthritic knee and struggles with bending. We are forever so grateful to @Qualcast&Flymo for helping with the otherwise impossible cage clean while I was in hospital and then for being instrumental in finding local help for cleaning. I have been worrying about the piggies a lot but there was so little I could do about it myself.

I believe shingles is very painful and miserable.
Although I expect my arm to be a bit tender for a couple of days it’s better than getting shingles
My treatment swap parter ended up in hospital with shingles and is still recovering many weeks later. Jab is definitely a great idea

I use a gardening stool to clean out the cage, but i still have to get into the cage to put the new bedding in. Luckily my cleaner helps with the full cage clean. She's brilliant and thinks nothing of picking up poo by hand!

I went for a walk today, I always feel a bit down this time of year, missing my family and remembering the Christmases we used to have when we were all together.
On the outward journey I saw a seagull paddling for worms, they do it with such a look of concentration, he made me smile. On the homeward leg Father Christmas waved to me, he must be having trouble starting the reindeer as he was driving a City Plumbing van.
So glad I went out despite the drizzle it lifted my spirits. It's often the little things that make a difference!

It really is @piggieminder - the people who are no longer present in our lives are always with us - you are not alone
I wish you a peaceful Christmas full of lovely memories of those you love ❤️
