Think Blodwen is getting a URI :(

3rd vet trip in 3 days! Piggle is our second grunty honker, nothing serious at all but the vet did hear a faint wheeze so she also has baytril as a precaution until friday. Blod has stopped grunting now but will also continue baytril until her check up. Both grunty wheezy honkers back at the vets on friday to make sure their breathing sounds clear.
The vet said Piggle was on her best behaviour, didnt jump or bite once- she saved that for when she got home lol :)

We don't like baytril! There will be a formal complaint lodged with the guinea pug union about the yucky taste of baytril, and we are not accepting parsley pay offs!

Piggle still sounds grunty but only when we are having the medicine wrestling match...

Blod is not grunty anymore but still doesnt like baytril, she feels betrayed that Clover was protecting her... until she saw the medicine syringe then Clover shoved her out of the hidey house to meet her fate!

I heard a bit of honking yesterday but it was intermittent during a scatter feed so I couldn't tell who it was or if it was just greedy Piggle or Theo hoovering up the hay too fast as usual...
Going to phone the vet as soon as they open tomorrow see if we can get an emergency same day appointment... she is still eating, scampering and popcorning (and trying to hump Clover) but she sounds awful :(
First socially distanced vet trip since lockdown coming up, please wish Blod luck! I think I see nasty baytril on the horizon...

Blod and Piggle both saw the vet on Friday for a check up, both seem fully recovered but the vet advised to keep the baytril going over the weekend just to make sure.
I was impressed we were only charged one £21 check up fee because "both piggies came in the same carrier to 1 appointment" :) Blod and Piggle are less impressed about the vet recommending an extra 4 doses of weekend baytril...
