If I'd seen this earlier I'd have said not to let the vet cut the opposing teeth. They would naturally even themselves out as if they'd been left long they'd have met the newly growing top teeth faster. By cutting the opposing teeth it makes it even more difficult for the piggy to feed what food he can back to the molars for longer and this can cause the molars to overgrow too.

If it happens again, don't be tempted to get the opposing teeth cut.

No. The bottom teeth would have grown longer than normal but would have met the newly growing top teeth quicker. In a few days the teeth would have worn themselves down to the original bite. With the bottom teeth cut it's going to take them longer to meet.

He'll be fine I'm sure but don't let the vet do it again and keep an eye on him trying to eat independently. If necessary cut his veggies into fine slivers as he should be able to get them back to his molars to chew them.

ooooooooooo he's gorgeous xoxo

how is he going?/what to do for choking

just wondering how george is going? last i heard you had a scare with him choking and he unable to eat by himself.
hoping his little teeth have grown and there has been no more choking incidents.
not sure if what you did when he choked is correct so could someone please tell me what you do for a choking piggy?
thanking you in advancexx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

What a handsome little piggie you have. Hope his teeth sort themselves out soon x

Hi everyone ! George is fine, I havent been on for a while as we hada horrible accident with our dog. I'll be posting about it in rainbow bridge pets. George is fine and eating his supa guinea excel aswell aslittle bits of food.

Alan, George and Charlie.

Oh and charlie chipped a tooth cause hye ran into a brick in the back garden !

If the inscissors are loose they must be removed because they will prevent the gp from picking up food. There is also the danger that if one of them falls out,the gp might swallow it.

The teeth will grow back very quickly. You will see new growth in a few days.
