Swollen testicles & not pooing

Thanks all :)
He seems to be a bit brighter today, this morning when the fresh hay went in, he sat and ate it for about an hour like all the other piggies. We could only get him to eat bits for 5 mins at the most before so he must be feeling a bit better. It’s been hard to tell how he’s been the rest of the day, he’s been eating bits and pieces but I’m not sure if it’s the ‘normal’ amount. He definitely seems a lot better though, still fluffed up but not as much. The metronidazole seems to be working. I haven’t been too worried about him today, he seems to be doing much better, just brighter, more himself, more active. He also hasn’t squealed out in pain either today too. He’s only had 3 doses of the medication but overall he’s doing okay again. We were very worried about him, so this is a relief!
We have emailed c&r, who knows when we will hear back from Simon about anything. At least we aren’t in a panic waiting to hear back now. It does seem like BB will need to be on medication long term so we will see what happens

That’s good news, so glad BB is eating and not in pain like before. Hopefully he can keep on this medication and he’ll manage very well x

Update:
We’ve just heard back from Simon. The plan is to keep BB on emeprid and metacam, stop the cisapride, and give the metronidazole for 1 more week. If he goes downhill again after stopping the metronidazole, Simon wants to see him to have another feel and see if anything has turned up since last time.
It’s interesting actually, he was telling us that he’s recently had an influx of rabbits all presenting with the same symptoms as BB. He isn’t sure why this is happening and is treating them the same way as he is treating BB and sort of hoping for the best. It’s very strange though. All we can do is hope that BB (and all the other rabbits and piggies dealing with this mystery illness) will be okay and will respond well to the medication and overcome whatever is happening. We’re definitely seeing the right person about it, anyway!

Gosh isn’t that strange? Hope Simon can get to the bottom of it and BB contains well with his meds x

How strange :( I hope that BB (and all the other rabbits and piggies) continue to do well on the medication x
Thank you both :) it makes you wonder whether it’s pure coincidence or a new ‘disease’ coming into circulation, hopefully the former.
He still seems to be doing okay, we ran out of his emeprid on Sunday evening and we’ve been trying to get hold of some since then. We have some that’s meant to be coming in two days, so fingers crossed it makes a difference. He is eating and doing better, but not all the way perfect like he was the last time he was on metronidazole so it could be that he’s struggling a bit without the emeprid.

These motility drugs seem to work very well and are obviously helping BB to recover. I hope this is not a new disease wh inch is targeting Rabbits and Guinea Pigs x
