We had our cages cleaned early. When Mom was doing chez's cage, I popcorned all over mine because I knew I was next. Mom thought I would break my back!

When Mom placed Chez in the fresh cage, he did a huge pee on the coroplast! A huge puddle to mop up.

We're being pretty good with the distractions but we are getting punished for asking for too many cookies. The punishment? Mom leaves the room for a half hour.

Kongo is an excellent role model for Little Bug. "I can be friendly too" but when it's tootsie time, out come the cucumber chompers Spa time isn't that bad, LB Truffle: Mommy Slave had to deal with mat stuck with boar glue, the strongest substance known in the world. Boar glue? She said. Yes, said Truffle with a naughty smile, please remove it, it's pulling my skin. She had to snip with the point of the scissors from the outside of the mat into the middle. I was very well behaved. MS snipped off a bit more of the fluffy fur to try to prevent more mats. She also trimmed the long sides, but not very evenly. My coat looks a bit messy

MS: Why is your back end so greasy. Polo, what are we going to do. Do you want a bath?
Polo: No.

I think the "punishment" is working! I just leave the room when they ask for cookies and stay away for a while. They are just munching hay.

oh no Polo, watch out for the bath! Its terrible. Slave says she wont bath me ever again. I was so angry last time and made a real mess. Slave was exhausted.


-Chip was the worst, though. But she bets a bath with Little Bug will be a nightmare...

Polo: MS tried to carry me into the bathroom while water was running in the basin and there was a scuffle do we have agreed to avoid running water but I have been parked in a bowl of warm water for a 'bum bath", meh, yuk

We're being good... for now. We have fresh hay, veggies, pellets and forage. So mom's going to stay till we beg for cookies.

Happy Easter guys

I'm a survivor of the kitchen scale! Slave tried earlier this week, but the numbers didn't really make sense she thought. She tried again yesterday. I'm a bit wiggly (very wiggly in fact), but its the same numbers.. Slave weighed mister Kongo, and wished there was something wrong with the scale. But no. 1298 grams. Where?! I know, thats like two of Kongos paws, but still.

Made some chaos in the cuddlebox again! I seem to enjoy some time with slaves, and I'm okay with their touching even though I'm not the cuddly type (yet). Slave and me had some quality time on floor instead. I found one of Kongos poo and yelled at it for two minutes. I like people to know about my existence all the time. I'm very high pitched.

Slaves now settled for my name. Finally, I say. Theres been so many this week! Kentucky Carl, Diablo, Kurumi... I'm a Djingis Kahn. It really fits me, a crazy fighter!

Djingis Kahn, a guinea warrior. Hopefully if you have a fierce name, you will have a calm heart but it might take time. Has Kongo lost weight? Kongo, you have to keep up your food intake, you may need to sit on the little noisy one. It's great though he has an outgoing pigsonality. When he realises his slaves are really good ones, he will become very friendly I think

Matter of fact Kongo did loose weight! Around 30g, I guess thats just some fluctuation and +1700 is his beach body this year too he was down to 1705g Friday.
Where Djingis hides his 1300g is a big question

He is a bit more calm now. Yesterday he lasted around 20 minutes in the cuddle box before he started to climb my legs instead. I dont think he ever will be like Kongo that just falls asleep under his blanket and loves some strokes, but thats okay

Mom bought me bedding yesterday and saw 6 guinea pigs for sale. Man, was she drooling. Should we be jealous? She really liked one, but it looked like he would regularly need a bum fur trim. Mom wants the ease of easy fur. And she doesn't want a third pig. Here we are cutely munching our breakfast and she's thinking of other pigs!

The "punishment" seems to be working just a little (just to clarify, the punishment is leaving the room for a half hour if they ask for cookies). She is able to stay in the room a little longer except in the afternoon when we're really bad.

Dear Chez and Stripe

Why is your Slave punishing you for asking for cookies? Hay Cookies are the best! I love Hay Cookies! I certainly wouldn't be putting up with that sort of behaviour!

I have looked in leaflet "What to do when you just need a Hay Cookie and your Slave won't give you one and what to do about it" and Page 1, Paragraph 3, Section 4c states "If your Slave thinks that punishing you by not giving you a Hay Cookie when you ask nicely for one is a good idea then you should

• Have a wheak with her why this is a bad idea, be reasonable, don't wheak loudly, explain that you need a Hay Cookie because they are good for your tastebuds and your tummy.
• Turn your back on her whenever she comes into the room and ignore her when she talks to you.
• Play catch me if you can when she wants to pick you up.
• Wheak loudly when she has friend over, is watching the box in the corner that lights up and makes a noise or is on the phone. She will give you a Hay Cookie just to shut you up.

Here's hoping that the above advice means that Hay Cookies will arrive in your cage forthwith.

Yes, she thinks we ask for more and more and that we're "getting out of hand." She actually called us brats. She's about ready to walk out of the room right now, in fact. But we just stopped begging so she's staying.

Chez is zooming and I'm trying to work out why there is no cookie in my mouth.

We have tried teeth chattering but will take your advice, too.

Currently munching hay and trying to wrap my head around this abuse of power. When I get my new cage I'll bite those bars, too

Mom bought me bedding yesterday and saw 6 guinea pigs for sale. Man, was she drooling. Should we be jealous? She really liked one, but it looked like he would regularly need a bum fur trim. Mom wants the ease of easy fur. And she doesn't want a third pig. Here we are cutely munching our breakfast and she's thinking of other pigs!

The "punishment" seems to be working just a little (just to clarify, the punishment is leaving the room for a half hour if they ask for cookies). She is able to stay in the room a little longer except in the afternoon when we're really bad.

I'm very curious about fleece-liners. We now have wood shavings mixed with hemp because I think that easier to clean (even though its absolutely everywhere). I do a full clean like every fourth day because its hard to do spot cleaning with shavings, but when we tried liners it smelled pee very fast? The spot cleaning was absolutely easier! Was the smell just in my head?

Kongo licked some skagenmix from my finger. He wanted my whole sandwich and I had to tell him off with my hand. He took the chance to lick it. It doesn't taste as good as it smells, he can tell. I saw the disappointment in his eyes

The despair flump and slump (Truffle) and the stare at slave across the room so every time she looks up from her shiny thing she sees me looking at her, munching pellets determinedly.These are ways of making her feel guilty for not fulfilling our needs. Well, guinea pigs have millions more taste buds than humans, they need their treats
There is also running around and stomping on the correx tray so she knows something is wrong and starts trying to work out what

MS has been looking at cage liners on Etsy and wants to experiment. We are on blankets at the moment
MS: I want to start the new wood shavings packet a little later this week so all the old stuff goes out on bin day.

Yes, we are fleece liner curious too. Piggies cos their beans stay on the surface and exhale a gentle aroma for longer, MS cos they just need a sweep up and are so nice and colourful. She is going to get one liner to experiment
