Survivors Group Therapy

Hi, I'm Tomie! I was losing weight like crazy and my slave couldn't figure out why... I went for some blood work (which I don't recommend at all!) and it turns out there is something wrong with my thyroid that makes it work a lot harder than it should. Now my slave has to give me meds twice a day and although I'm still a skinny little piggy, I've stopped losing weight and am at least holding steady. I don't love taking meds but my slave says it's necessary!

Here's a pic of me getting chin pats. I like chin pats a lot better than medicine and blood work!

Tomie you are gorgeous! I'm glad to hear your slave is taking good care of you!

The needle was awful, I got anesthesia for the first blood test but they didn't get enough blood to run the full panel so I had to give more blood... apparently they didn't anesthetize me for the next one and I came home VERY upset! We are working on adjusting my med dose now to hopefully find a dose where I put some weight back on!
You are such a brave guinea pig! Telling your slave how you feel and sharing here are good ways to vent ❤️

Hi Survivors,

I just had lap time with my slave and while I was being stroked I ate a rose hip flavored hay cookie. It was the first time in months I've come out of my cage for non medical reasons. I have to admit I was relaxed enough to eat the delicious cookie!

Enjoy lap time!

Stripe

I think Miss Bramble would advise not being too conspicuously enthusiastic, but then there is a saying among guinea pigs that a cookie in the mouth never did any harm, especially if it tastes of rose hips 😉

Slave worked till 8 tonight but me and Chez were still up when she came to top off our hay. I was so excited I did a little zoom. Just one lap, but it's the first time I've zoomed in three months.

Hi Stripe and other the pigs of the internet,

This is Lily, and I would like to get this situation off my chest.

You see, hooman left a week ago for something she calls a “work trip” so she can “feed us” (ridiculous, I know; there’s always food in the fridge), but Rosie and I accepted our fate. We were extra cute with the neighbour girl looking after us and even maintained our levels of chonk. Usually we go on strike and lose weight when hooman leaves, ultimately worrying her sick, because pig logic.

But hear this. Hooman dares come back with pneumonia AND covid! Hooman has somebody else attend to us still, all she does is look at us from a distance! We hear her voice sometimes and get so confused! And listen, I know hooman was never going to reach mine nor Rosie’s level of gorgeous, but now she’s looking like a truck drove over her and reversed back around to get a second hit in. Many of you long haired fluffy pigs would have your heart break for me if you saw her hair. I thought you needed hair spray to get it to stand like that?

I demand your thoughts and prayers,

Lily. And Rosie.

Patience is a virtue! But it must be frustrating. Is the caretaker giving you cookies? Best of luck, Stripe

You are obviously bearing up well under the strain.
Hope your mummy gets better soon

Hello fellow piggies and Stripe! Survivor of a near blind experience! I had bad hay poke a while back and could hardly see out of one eye. My eye felt strange cos when I blinked it felt like there was a lump on my eyeball. Slave took me to the Lovely Vet Lady (no Nasty Vet Men at the new vets!) and she put some stuff in my eye that made everything turn orange. She gave my Slave some eyedrops which I was very good at having put in my eye for 7 days (as your GPU Rep and Shop Steward I have to lead by example) and the Lovely Vet Lady said I didn't need to return to see her unless my Slave was worried which she wasn't as my eye got betterer.

So glad you're feeling better! I too, had hay poke and also took my drops like a champ.

I hope you avoid getting it again! Way to go! Keep on surviving!

Hey survivors! Mom was topping off Chez's hay and I got so excited for my turn I started wheeking. This is the first time I've wheeked in three months. So glad to have found my voice again!

Stripe
Come on Stripe! Cheer your slave all the way to the fridge. Make her run faster. Wheek for that food

Truffle: 💘

Hi pigs,

I started chutting again this morning. I was actually looking for Chez in the next cage over and then we both bit the bars looking at each other. Chez soon lost interest though. But I'm chutting!

Hi Stripe, Miss Bramble, and other piggies

I too am a survivor of hay poke (I’ve had four, my slave says it’s because I hay dive and rub my eyes at the same time, but I think he’s just not giving me enough hay) and I’m shocked to hear you were allowed to stop the eye drops after a short time?

I am offended that I still have to endure the horror of eye drops twice a day, sometimes three! My cagemate and new friend Patches doesn’t need any at all. I am terribly upset by this injustice and would appreciate pointers on how to get the eye drops to stop. I’ve tried blinking exactly when my slave puts the drops in so it goes down my cheek but he doesn’t stop trying!

Slave says it’s because I caused too much damage and now have a mass. I told him he’s making things up.

Yours outraged,
Tofu

Dear Tofu,
We both like to take turns sleeping under the hay but we’ve never had Haypoke.
It doesn’t sound very nice.
We hope your eye gets better soon.
Love from Miriam and Moses

Dear Tofu,
I've only had one hay poke, The Mummy Slave said I'm lucky because it happened on the way to The Vet. I didn't get any more eye drops to have at home but The Vet did stick a nasty injection in me!
In my experience, when the hoomans do these things to us, it's going to make us feel better.
My advice is to take any medication or eye drops really nicely then you will get a yummy treat after. My favourite is a green bean.
Rumble, rumble, rumble,
Dignified Sir George
