This was a tunnel fun day-


Then we have had a poorly Princess Mavis and she’s lost a ton of weight and this was a syringe feed session. Thankfully she’s better and gaining weight now but why does it take them so long to put it back on -

Hope gorgeous Princess Mavis puts that weight back on.
Seems to be the opposite of humans who can put on weight rapidly and take forever to lose it!

Thanks everyone. She’s doing so much better thankfully. Being a skinny they look so noticeably thin when they drop some weight so it made me sad. But she’s bright and eating well and gaining now so hopefully that’s all over with. She had a uri and baytril and then a bit of an upset stomach so it was stressful.

Sunday cage clean today as I was busy yesterday practicing how to drive my new Mini Electric car! Was a bit nerve wracking! Plus a random cat decided to be the first animal inside it

Well just back from seeing Ellie Whitehead in Matlock. Ginny has been poorly. Blood when peeing and crying. She was on Baytril for suspected UTI. No effect, if anything she got a little worse. So she suspects not an infection due to no response at all.

Ellie gave her an X-ray and luckily no stones.
I have suspected for a whilst she has ovarian cysts (but no hormonal side effects) and this was confirmed today that she does.

Ellie is suspecting interstitial cystitis. I had already been giving cystease as had some and thought it wouldn’t harm. So we are continuing on that and a high dose of metacam. Then updating in around 10 days and going from there.

The cysts she doesn’t feel need any action currently other than to keep monitoring and address as and when needed.

She lost a bit of weight but nothing major and had maintained since the initial drop so topping her up with some just incase critical care and syringing some extra water too.

She’s a bit fed up but not too bad and still mostly bright. She was more fed up of us giving her back end a close shave to keep her cleaner!

Now to do lots of research on IC care!

Ginny seems brighter on her high dose of metacam which I’m so grateful for as it was hurting my heart seeing her hurting. Degu let her have one of his crock treats for being a good girl.

Princess Mavis has her podgy pot belly back and I’m so pleased as she really did look skinny when she was poorly.
