Rocky's GI Statis

Oh no. I hope the vet has something else you can try/do. But to be honest it seems like you have tried everything. Sending healing vibes your way. ❤️

Oh my goodness. I’ve just caught up on this thread. I am thinking of you & Rocky x

Right. We went to the vets at 9am. The vet has done a full check on him again. She did another xray. She said there isn't much gas in Rocky's stomach. His stomach also obviously has food and liquid in it. He seems looking bright. But when she did examine his stomach, she said he is sore and in pain. She said there is an impaction somewhere in his bowels. We asked if they can perform some kind of flushing (I forgot the term) and she said that might not really work coz they don't know how far the blockage is really.

She suggested to give him magnesium sulfate just to see if it will release whatever the blockage is. Now we haven't heard anything about it in guinea pigs but hubby and I decided to try it as a last resort. If it works, then good. If it doesn't, then this will be Rocky's last day. 😪

Rocky had 2 big wee this morning (one before we left for the vet and one after we got back). I put him back a few minutes ago to his bed on the floor, then he started eating some spinach!

:( I wish I could say or do more to help. I know exactly how you must be feeling and it's just awful. We are sending lots of love from here and hope that the medicine helps to get Rocky back on track. Stay strong, look after yourself and remember that we are all here for you guys 💗💗💗

He’s such a fighter. I hope this treatment sorts out the blockage. 🤞🤞

My fingers are crossed for you and Rocky. You’ve all been fighting so hard, I hope it’s going to be good news! Come on Rocky, you can do it!

Oh gosh what a rollercoaster ride for poor you and Rocky, sending lots of healing vibes, 🤞come on little man you get rid of this blockage x

If he seems fairly bright in himself, I would just keep syringing food, little and often and keep him moving around. I get them out and keep encouraging them to move around the floor. After a while you usually start to see a few poos appearing.

Oh poor Rocky, we all love you, you little champ. Thinking of you :luv:

How’s rocky this morning?

Rocky has been put to sleep this morning. We are both so heartbroken. None of the meds has worked, we even got him the injectable ones, which was supposed to work quickly but nothing happened. He only managed to have one small poop yesterday. He was still fighting yesterday but this morning, he was already weak. 😭

I'm so so sorry. You really did do everything for him, he was so loved. He's at peace now and pop corning with the others over the bridge.
I'm so sorry for your heartbreak. Thinking of you all and sending love at this difficult time. Cherish those lovely memories you have with your beautiful boy 🌈 💗

I am so very sorry for your loss, you did everything you could for little Rocky, and knowing he is at peace now will make things seem easier eventually.

Take time to grieve, but take comfort in knowing what a wonderful piggie slave you have been to him.

Popcorn free, little Rocky 🌈

I'm so sorry.. Thank you for updating us. We're all here for you, may Rocky popcorn free now 🌈 ❤️
