As a lot of you know, Rocky had GI statis on Wednesday last week and we almost lost him. We were going to put him to sleep that afternoon but our local vet didn't do it since she saw he was pooping. They did xray him and saw that even though he was full of gas, they saw it was starting to shift. Anyway, he still managed to live through it all.
On Saturday, we went for an emergency appointment at Cat & Rabbit to get meds and for Rocky to be checked. Simon said that there was no gas/bloat and that he was quite empty, so told us to give him full feeds. Simon also did some dental work to make sure there's no problem. But he started drooling a bit after the dental and still does today.
So Sunday, we were giving him around 15 to 20mls of syringe food every 3 hours or so. Then last night, around 8pm, he passed a lot of cowpat poo. He was struggling to poo a bit during the day and was releasing only some tiny and a bit hard poop, then the cowpat poops happened at night. Around the last feeding time, 1:30am, his poop has already formed a bit, albeit still soft, I fed him around 15-18mls of CC and mushed pellets, and a couple syringes of liquid.
This day, his poops are back to tiny and a bit hard ones. He's also not losing weight much and was quite struggling to poop really. There are some passing but it's only few. We are feeding him only a couple syringes of CC and water w/ probiotics, and 1 or 2 mls of blended carrot. He is also on the massager and we went for a drive 2x to encourage movements. He is peeing fine, it's just that he isn't pooping much.
We don't know what else to do.![Loudly crying face :sob: 😭](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f62d.png)
@Wiebke is there anything you can recommend us doing? He has all the meds needed. We tweak how much we need to feed to make sure we have the correct balance of food he needs to get his guts working. He still washes himself from time to time and still loves taking the Loxicom (he grabs the syringe when it's meds time). But he would just stay inside his house all the time. He fights us during feeding time, which is normal for him. But we can see him being uncomfortable especially when we was trying to poo.
