Hi there, just checking in; with funerals and personal illness (MS flared up after the flu) and buying a new house and dog surgeries and now it's SNOWING I just have not had the time to play with guinea pigs or be on the Internet. I can take a couple of minutes right now, though. The pix aren't too good (batteries went dead!) but they will show that everyone is doing fine. I dropped and broke my Krups food scale this week so I can't show you that Sal is only a few grams away from weighing the same as Red, they're each around 1100 g. Sal is as stinky as ever. I can't let them out together for too terribly long because Sal bites Red; they seem to enjoy each other's company, and I find them huddled together in the cat food bag (otherwise empty, of course), but occasionally I will find a scabbed-over bite, so I know that Sal has been attacking Red. Yet if I put him in the bathroom alone, Sal starts wheeeeeeeeking his little heart out wanting company. I bought a large farm-type bale of hay at a farm supply store (40 in L x 20 in W x 14 in H) and they are loving nesting in it and eating it. It cost only $4.50 (£2.85) and will last 2-3 months. Anyway, I've been gone but you've not been forgotten.

I was just wondering where you'd gone Pat, sounds like you've been through the mill a bit. (((((hugs))))
They both look fab. Wow! I can't get over how well Sal is looking, he looks like a right little monkey! :)) I hope Red's coping with his nippy friend okay. x

awww long time no see you three! sal is looking big there! Hope you're all ok and looking forward to seeing more pigtures x

Hi Pat, hope you are feeling a little better & are settling into your new home. Red & Sal look absolutely gorgeous, you must be so proud of them :)

I forgot to mention that Red's coat looks choppy because that's what I did, I just chopped a lot of it off as I discovered that the hair around his rear was too matted to comb through, and as my vision has gotten worse because the MS has gotten worse I cannot see in fine detail enough to keep from hurting him if I try to make him look pretty, so I just kept the scissors a safe distance with his hair through my fingers and chopped away. I do cut his nails safely on my own now; I got some tiny creature clippers and some +3 magnification reading glasses, and in front of a very bright light I cautiously clip one at a time. Fortunately all his nails but one are clear so I don't hurt him. Yay.
