Please keep your fingers crossed for Harrison

Poor Harrison. Hope he’s feeling better and less sorry for himself soon.

That’s great to hear 🥰 hopefully he’ll be able to go out wed !
He did so well coming thru that op 🥰❤️

So glad his wound is healing well. Our beloved pets do have a way of looking at us to make us feel guilty or worried. Even my 650kg horse makes ‘pity me’ eyes. 🤞for Wednesday x

Glad to hear Harrison is doing well. It’s never easy keeping cats in when they are used to going outside but when he has fully recovered he will thank you x

I think it looks fine Claire, it’s just a bit of dried blood which is natural and part of the healing process as they are moving around and the skin knitting together

Thank you. It’s been exactly a week since he had his operation so I was a bit upset to see the blood. Do you have any idea how long it will take for his stitches to dissolve? The vet said they are dissolvable stitches

It very much depends on the type of stitches really, if you are at all concerned to could send a photo of Harrison’s scar over to the vets, but it looks very normal to me from the pets I’ve had that have been operated on. It’s not red, pussy, swollen or hot looking, that’s when I’d be concerned

Harrison has seen the vet nurse. She cleaned his wound up and said he’s healing well and doesn’t have to go back. Stitches should dissolve in 3-4 weeks. He can go back out in a day or two x
That’s super news x

That is so reassuring Claire. We get anxious about wound healing as we see it so rarely. It’s good that someone who sees it regularly has been able to tell you he’s healing well and he can soon go outside again. I’m sure he is itching to go outside again.

We let Harrison outside this morning. I’m feeling very apprehensive especially as he still has his stitches but we can’t keep him in any longer as the poor boy is going crazy and vet nurse said he can go out today 😞 But I’m in all day so he can come and go as he pleases x

I’m waiting for a phone call from the vet as I’m worrying as he still feels thinner than he used to and I’m sure he should have gained weight again by now? I’m worrying that his second thyroid gland has become hyperthyroid or something even though the vet said when he had his thyroidectomy for the first one that that may happen a few years down the line, surely it can’t have happened that quick? Please put my mind at ease 😞 x

Please let the vet answer your questions, Claire. If they feel they need to see him, I’m sure they will do so. I don’t know anything about cat thyroid problems, sorry.

Please try not to worry Claire.
How doe she seem within himself?
Active, eating, etc.
Please remember that weight gain is a marathon not a sprint and it may take a few months.
