Glad I found this thread and links, will go and read up......was thinking about what to do with my hutch ramp once the boys go back outside for the summer. They have a Chartwell 2 storey with run which can attach to the the front.
I tried a bendy tunnel placed and secured on top of the ramp, but that wasn't a resounding success so plenty of alternative ideas to try. They are used to using a mini ramp to get up to the 1st floor of their piggy palace hidey- so I think I will try to put this hidey in the hutch to reduce the gradient of the ramp.
Is it better for boars to keep the ramp open rather than covered? Don't want to create a trouble spot now they are more confident.
