Sorry to come here and pester you all on this not so sunny day. I know i havent posted much life has been pretty hectic so let me explain....
in the past siz weeks Percy-Roo has had a UTI twice - bladder infection and been 'off colour'. Lost a lot of weight during this time went to 600g and managed to get him back upto 950 about two weeks ago.
However since last week he's went down hill very quick, i noticed he was off colour again and losing weight. I didn't want to get the CC out straightaway so gave him a variety in his hay.
On Friday i weighed him and he was 750, whilst handling him i noticed he was slightly wheezy, when he breathed decided to keep an eye on him and get him checked if there was no improvement.
On Sunday he went so downhill during the evening, his breathing became erratic and he hardly touched his food so out came the critical care and i phoned the vets.
The vet got me an emergancy appointment to which i turned up with my PJ's underneath, he was really not at all well!
Lathargic, floppy, breathing heavy making a staggered 'huhhh' noise when he was breathing. His heart rate has increased quite dramatically.
The vet diagonised him with having an astma attack and gave him two injections to reduce the swelling in his airways.
I've been told to wait until tomorrow as it can take upto 48hours for the medication to work, and if there is no improvement hes going in for x-rays as the vet noted that she could hear fluid on his lungs. However if he goes further downhill tonight to take him to the emergancy vets asap.
Hes still not eating and struggling with the CC as he makes this awful gasping noise whenever he tries to swallow. His poop has gone stringy (?) and long and slightly wetish. He's not floppy anymore but still not his usually happy self and lathargic, just huddled in his hidey making really awful huhh huhh noises. I'm not too sure what else i can do for him. Hes skin and bones and not well.
