No eating

Jack's lost weight. And I knew my husband wouldn't be able to feed him enough. 😔

I'm gutted as now worried what the vet will say tomorrow

Not sure if it is because it's so warm here again today.
I have managed to get 10ml
And a little veg.

He not interested in the dual care nuggets so I was wondering if to syringe some for him to get the taste.

He also had a poo like this. This is longer as the others have been shorter

How much weight has he lost since yesterdays weight check?
Yes syringe feed him if he isn’t eating willingly.

About 40g he has lost.

I syringe cc as soon as I got in and got 10 MLS into him.

I just feels so heartbroken and worrying what the vet will says tomorrow

My piggy had slanted front teeth, lack of appetite and weight loss and an ear infection was diagnosed. The pain from the ear was affecting his appetite. However I had a scan to get it diagnosed and he was on antibiotics for several weeks. Not suggesting your piggie has an ear infection but just offering an alternative to ask your vet.
Hope your little one is better soon 🤞

Back from the vets
He would have liked to seen him put on more weight. He gave him another good check.
Checked his ears. And felt all round listen to his breathing.
And he thinks it could be dental. (He didn't think this on Tuesday)
So the vet is checking price and I am giving jack this last attempt.
The dental check and any work shouldn't be more than £100. (This is gas and check and any work that he will need done)
Which is better than what I was quoted

I am still worried but I have everything crossed.

He is quite young so hopefully it is a pretty simple fix and your boy will be feeling better soon.

My thoughts are with you x

How much water should I be aiming to syringe to my boar?

Just wondering with this heat.

Update

Jack's weight has stayed the same even though he had been having more cc and dual care food.

His poos are starting to look better as well.
Going to ring the vets about his dental work as not heard from them.

Still not heard from the vets. Just about to walk to them as almost out of cc.

Jack's weight has dropped a bit even though he is having about 80ml of cc and about 20 ml of dual care every day. Still offering him grass, and veggies.

During the day feeding every 2 hours then once during the night.

Popped into the vets.

And I asked about the quote. They said for ga x-rays and consultation would be £450 at another vets.

So I am still waiting for the vet to call me as the receptionist had no idea. But I spoke about other options. I am getting so upset about this all as I feels they are not helping me.

There are a few other vets in my town and I think I might have to phone around.

It's with a heavy heart I had to have Jack put to sleep. 😭

The vets was lovely and so understanding.
He had a a mass on the side of his face caused by his back teeth She looked at his teeth and straight away said what the problem was.
She gave me option but said his quality of life wouldn't be the same and he could always be in pain. Plus I would need to take him back every 6 weeks to have his teeth done. And there was no guarantee he would eat again.

Once he was at peace she had a look and his back teeth was growing over his tongue at the back.

Oh I’m so sorry. Jack is pain free now, eating the greenest grass over the bridge. It’s such a hard decision to make. But it’s made with their wellbeing at the centre of it. It’s clear Jack was a much loved piggy. Take care ❤️

Thank you so much.

I am really sorry to hear this.
I hope you can find peace in everything you did for him, I can not imagine how loved he felt right until the end.

I have also, a couple months ago, had to put my boy down for dental issues and it was a really, really tough decision.
I still feel guilty now and then, months later, but at the end of the day I know I made the right decision.
When a decision like this is made from a place of love, there really is no wrong or right.

My thoughts are with you and your family. You may find these guides nice to read through, it includes a section about owners and their children dealing with a pet loss.
