I'm having to do the same with the girls lice.Unless things have changed in 3 years I agree with @Free Ranger when I had to treat mine it was 3 doses 2 weeks apart. I've just looked it up in the notebook I keep on treatments the piggies have had. I think your vets have made a mistake.
I hope your boys are back to normal very quickly, mine were.
I think I will give it in two goes for Little, I didn’t even think of that - thank you! It's possible Little won't have any problems at all as he shouldn't have had such a heavy infestation.
The first vet to give me 450 for a 1.05 kilo pig said 'try not to put the lot on - kinda... keep the last bit in the syringe(?)" which I did try to do but it came out in a glob and I ended up getting it on me too (and just wiping my fingers on my sow!) It was either that or do 5 pipettes plus of the mini one I suppose. If you're worried perhaps try putting half on Little, leaving for a few hours, and then adding the rest? You would feel reassured that he definitely was under-dosed for weight so any adverse discomfort had to be from dying mites, not side-effects ... and he would get the full whack in the end. If you could get hold of a tiny syringe it could help?
I would also do it in the morning too (if you are around to monitor?) as it's harder to cope when everyone's tired. Be brave BB!![]()
